We are looking for a Director of Talent and Development who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing enterprise-wide talent management and development strategies that align with the organization’s goals. This role will focus on leadership development, succession planning, learning & development (L&D), performance management, and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of retail operations, a passion for developing people, and the ability to drive a culture of continuous learning and growth.
What's unique about this job (What you’ll do)
Talent & Leadership Development:
- Develop and execute talent development programs to identify, nurture, and retain top talent.
- Lead leadership development initiatives, including mentoring, coaching, and training programs for all levels of management.
- Establish a robust succession planning framework to ensure a strong internal pipeline for key leadership roles.
Learning & Development (L&D):
- Oversee the design and delivery of training programs that enhance employee capabilities and career progression.
- Implement innovative learning strategies, including e-learning, in-person workshops, and blended learning solutions.
- Partner with department leaders to assess skills gaps and create targeted development initiatives.
Performance Management & Employee Engagement:
- Lead the organization’s performance management strategy to foster a high-performance culture.
- Enhance employee engagement initiatives by designing programs that improve retention, satisfaction, and workplace productivity.
- Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of talent programs and make informed improvements.
Organizational Development & Change Management:
- Drive cultural transformation initiatives to align talent strategies with business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic partner to leadership in shaping an inclusive, diverse, and collaborative work environment.
- Champion change management efforts to support organizational growth and development.
Bring your passion and expertise (Who you are)
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8-10+ years of progressive experience in talent management, learning & development, or HR leadership within a retail or high-volume, customer-centric environment.
- Proven success in designing and implementing enterprise-wide talent and leadership programs.
- Strong knowledge of best practices in succession planning, competency frameworks, and career pathing.
- Experience with HR technologies, learning management systems (LMS), and talent analytics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment with strong business acumen.
