ROLE DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Talent and Development at Chick-fil-A Hialeah Westland located in Hialeah, FL. The Director will be responsible for employee engagement, performance management, employer branding, hiring, and employee relations on a daily basis.
R O L E S & R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S
TALENT ACQUISITION
• Develop and execute a strategic plan for establishing short-term and long-term recruitment pipelines.
• Partner with Directors on talent needs to ensure we are prepared for any business needs.
• Maintain all recruiting and related information in job boards, career websites, and other possible channels.
• Oversee and manage existing recruitment programs and systems.
• Review applicant information and conduct phone/in-person interviews for qualified applicants.
• Track turnover including 2 week notices, employment end dates, and reasons for leaving to ensure compliance for unemployment.
• Perform exit interviews whenever possible to gain insight on turnover and future selection decisions.
ONBOARDING AND TRAINING
• Manage candidates through full-life cycle recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring a positive candidate experience that displays our vision and values.
• Oversee uniform program for all new and current team members.
• Complete team member onboarding paperwork and upload required documents.
• Enter team member into HR Payroll and ensure contact information, emergency contact, tax information, and direct deposit information is accurate.
• Partner with Operator to update Team Member Handbook on annual basis and/or as needed.
• Support certified team trainer selection and program execution.
• Assign Pathways to respective leaders and team members for onboarding and/or development.
• Ensure all required trainings are up to date for all team members.
SCHEDULING
• Partner with Directors to ensure scheduling is consistent with restaurant needs.
• Manage team member requests/schedule changes in Hot Schedules.
• Communicate with team about breaks, holidays, end of school schedule changes in advance to plan staffing.
• Audit and follow-up with leadership team to ensure proper breaks and lunches are followed.
• Follow-up on time punches daily to ensure team members are clocked in properly.
DEVELOPMENT
• Oversee, maintain, and assist with the team member 90-day and annual review system, ensuring feedback is relevant, timely, and recorded.
• Provide ongoing developmental feedback to support leadership and team member growth.
• Lead and administer the team member engagement survey while creating action plans for follow-up.
• Create and execute a culture that celebrates each team member’s personal achievements.
• Ensure Team Member policies are adhered to; specifically, uniform, break periods, meals and punctuality.
• Connect with leaders and team members through regular one-on-one conversations.
• Lead and support a total restaurant culture of CARE with all leaders and team members.
• Captain special projects that are assigned by the Operator and/or Operating Partner.
ADMINISTRATIVE
• Prepare and present talent scorecard.
• Meet bi-weekly with Operator and Vision Team.
• Partner with Directors to perform any write ups and/or conversations as needed.
• Maintain proper and organized documentation for all incidents.
• Oversee time off requests and partner with Operating Partner to ensure payroll is properly completed.
• Oversee all workers compensation needs.
• Oversee team culture and all efforts to maximize retention.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• Bilingual (English and Spanish)
• Three years of experience in Human Resources, Leadership Development role or related field
• Track record of successful leadership development
• Extremely organized and excellent follow through
• Team focused and goal oriented
• Experience in the service industry a plus
• Learn operations of the restaurant
