The Executive Leader (director), Talent Acquisition is responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and leadership for the Talent Acquisition team dedicated to attracting and hiring the best talent for Whole Foods Market. The Executive Leader will be a hands-on agile leader, who can develop and drive short/long term recruitment strategies, be process-oriented, and utilize best practices to manage the full life cycle recruitment process. This role must possess excellent communication, organizational, negotiation, and presentation skills; including, the ability to effectively influence senior leaders. This position must also strengthen Whole Food Market employer branding strategies and practices including digital/social channels, engaging local communities and partners, and will also be responsible for managing external vendor relationships. The Executive Leader will monitor and analyze hiring activities to determine staffing effectiveness across Whole Foods Market and will have compliance responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Direct, lead, and motivate the team to deliver results by communicating company goals and deadlines; engaging and developing team members through effective performance management, coaching, and training; implementing continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus; and embodying our purpose and values to inspire Whole Foods Market leadership.
- Work directly with Operational Area Executive Leaders and Vice Presidents on strategy and engage store leadership in their environments to empathize with operational area differences and unique challenges.
- Motivate a high performing Talent Acquisition team to ensure all have a thorough understanding of the business/operational area they support to identify, engage, and attract prospective candidates.
- Connect with Leadership in our operational areas to anticipate upcoming talent needs and recommend improvements to full recruitment lifecycle.
- Tracks and analyzes a strong portfolio of talent metrics to measure and quantify success, influence talent strategies, and educate partners on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Embrace data and analytics to identify opportunities for Whole Foods Market DEIB programs and Whole Foods Market Value Proposition.
- Manages the team budget, annual planning and budgeting, and Contract Management with emphasis on making data-driven recommendations for new resources and solutions.
- Improves candidate pipelines for all open positions using innovative sourcing channels by driving effective recruitment strategies with job board partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (4 years) or a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, plus 4-6 years of leadership experience in a large retail setting.
- Recruitment management experience leading a high-volume team of Talent Acquisition professionals.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders and leaders across the company.
- Knowledge of employment laws to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and Store Support (corporate) policies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment of competing priorities with tight deadlines.
- Experience with ATS/HRIS, social media/Marketing, AI, and other cutting edge recruitment technologies.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and high curiosity.
- Strong business acumen in grocery retail.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Engages with other leaders to design, maintain and champion the mission, vision, and strategy of Whole Foods Market
- Develops deep, credible relationships with senior-level executives, both inside and outside current areas of responsibility.
- Engages with senior level stakeholders to define, clarify, and resolve issues related to recruiting objectives, processes, and outcomes.
- Conducts regular and ad-hoc reviews with the team, stakeholders, partners, and customers.
