As an HR Generalist with a strong focus on culture and people experience, you will play a key role in shaping and fostering an environment where our employees feel engaged, valued, and empowered. You will work closely with HR leadership, managers, and employees to drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, reinforce our values, and promote an inclusive, high-performance culture. Your work will directly contribute to making Dr. Martens a place where people love to work, grow, and thrive.
THE GIG
- Support employee engagement initiatives as a member of our culture group, helping to create a workplace where our people feel connected, motivated, and inspired.
- Partner with teams across the business to create improvements in our people-focused programs, including onboarding, recognition, engagement, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance on culture, engagement, performance, policy and best HR practices.
- Partnering and communicating closely with all members of the HR team to ensure consistent employee experience and HR alignment on key projects, which could include people & performance initiatives, compliance, engagement, and pay review processes.
- Maintain proper documentation for all programs, including trainings, onboarding, offboarding, employee experience and compliance.
- Lead the organization and actioning of quarterly townhalls, internal communications, monthly newsletters, and employee recognition programs in both the department and region.
- Facilitate the regional onboarding program for both corporate and retail store managers.
- Maintain internal company intranet and work with HR Teams to drive improvements.
THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART
- Proven experience in human resources generalist roles, demonstrating expertise in collaborating with employees and leadership across all levels, led seamless onboarding and offboarding processes, and facilitated and coordinated employee engagement activities to enhance workplace culture and morale.
- Passion for building a positive workplace culture, enhancing employee experience, and driving engagement initiatives.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing employee feedback initiatives, gathering insight through surveys and engagement discussion to drive continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to connect with employees at all levels, provide clear guidance, and foster relationships
- Capability to guide managers and employee on best HR practices, performance management, and career development
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with shifting priorities
- Ability to manage multiple HR initiatives, stay organized, and meet deadlines
- Experience with HRIS platforms, employee engagement tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace and supporting DEI initiatives.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with HR teams, leadership, and employees to drive people-focused initiatives.
- Ability to assess situations, analyze data, and collaborate to help create solutions to HR challenges.
- Understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
- International/domestic travel required, 5% of travel.
- Ability to work at a standard computer set up 40+ hours per week, with or without accommodations.
