Manager of People and Culture (Human Resources)

Mullen & Henzell, a well-established law firm in Santa Barbara, is seeking an experienced People and Culture Manager to oversee the firm’s Human Resource operations. This role is integral to our firm’s culture, ensuring smooth administrative processes and fostering a positive workplace environment for attorneys and staff.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee staff and attorney recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
· Manage benefits administration and collaborate with accounting on payroll processing.
· Handle employee time, attendance, training, and performance reviews.
· Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
· Maintain personnel records and support firm-wide staffing coverage.
· Lead community outreach and foster a positive firm culture.
What We Are Looking For
· Human Resources (HR) experience is required (law firm or professional services preferred).
· Familiarity with employment law and Human Resources (HR) best practices.
· Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
· A personable and approachable demeanor, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the firm.
· Experience managing benefits, payroll collaboration, and compliance processes is desirable.
· The ability to navigate HR challenges with professionalism—and a bit of humor—goes a long way!
Compensation & Benefits
· Compensation range of $85,000 - $110,000
