As we continue to scale, we are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and results-driven Vice President of People Operations to join our leadership team. This role will ensure that our workforce capabilities and performance align with organizational goals, helping us scale efficiently while maintaining a strong, inclusive culture.
Mission & Outcomes
Reporting to the CEO, the VP of People Operations will be integral to shaping and executing our people strategy to ensure Dusty Robotics continues to grow and thrive. This individual will drive talent management, employee engagement, legal compliance, and organizational development, while keeping a sharp focus on business results. The VP will be responsible for aligning people processes with our business goals, developing and retaining talent, and ensuring a culture that thrives as we scale.

- Maximize organizational efficiency through best-in-class HR practices.
- Develop and streamline onboarding, performance management, coaching, and retention strategies.
- Build a fair and effective compensation plan that meets the needs of both the organization and its employees.
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
- Foster a unified culture where all employees are aligned with the company's mission, values, and vision.
What You'll Do
As the VP of People Operations, you will be responsible for leading and executing on the following:
People Operations & Organizational Development:
- Lead the design, development, and execution of people programs that align with Dusty Robotics' growth, including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation & benefits, learning and development, and succession planning.
- Provide strategic guidance and leadership to department heads, ensuring their teams have the tools, support, and resources needed for success.
- Implement effective employee engagement initiatives to maintain a positive and inclusive culture.
- Develop and maintain programs for career pathing, mentoring, and leadership development.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team on all matters related to people operations, culture, and organizational development.
- Act as a thought partner and challenge the status quo when appropriate, offering data-driven insights and solutions to improve performance and culture.
- Coach and mentor managers and leaders across the organization to strengthen their leadership capabilities and foster a growth-oriented mindset.
Legal & Compliance:Act as the legal lead for people-related issues, ensuring the company adheres to all applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Work closely with legal counsel to address any employee relations issues, ensuring fair and transparent processes for conflict resolution.
- Regularly audit HR processes and systems to ensure compliance with both local and federal labor laws.
Culture & Diversity:
- Champion the culture and values of Dusty Robotics, ensuring they are embedded in all aspects of the employee experience.
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment where all employees feel valued and have equal opportunities for growth.
- Oversee culture-related initiatives such as employee recognition, team-building activities, and company-wide communication efforts to ensure alignment with our mission and values.
Employee Experience & Performance Management:
- Drive the creation and refinement of performance management systems that encourage continuous feedback, learning, and growth for all employees.
- Ensure seamless onboarding, offboarding, and internal mobility processes to create a positive experience at every stage of the employee lifecycle.
- Work closely with the talent acquisition team to attract, hire, and retain exceptional talent in alignment with the company's strategic goals.

- Legal & Compliance Expert: You are knowledgeable about employment law and experienced in navigating legal complexities related to HR matters.
- Excellent Coach: You are adept at coaching managers and executives through complex challenges, helping them grow as leaders and navigate the ever-evolving landscape of scaling businesses.
What You Bring - Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 7 years in a senior HR or People Operations role.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful people strategies in high-growth environments.
- Significant experience in legal compliance, employee relations, talent management, and organizational development.

- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to execute and drive results.
- Expertise in talent management, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ) and the ability to connect with people at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues.
- Ability to influence and partner with leadership to drive organizational change.
- Experience with:
- Contract negotiations (a plus).
- Mergers and acquisitions, blending populations during organizational growth or similar experience (a plus).
