Job Description
The Opportunity:
The People & Culture Director is a key strategic partner overseeing and guiding the organization's People & Culture functions. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's culture, enhancing employee engagement, and driving initiatives that support the organization's goals and objectives. The People & Culture Director ensures the development and implementation of People & Culture strategies that attract, retain, and develop top talent while ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
The position reports to both Senior Director of People & Culture and VP GM of the plant.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Overall responsible for People & Culture function for MBK plant
- Be an Influential Advisor for the GM and Leadership team on critical business priorities in terms of proactively identifying gaps in cross-functional alignment & mobilizing manpower resources to deliver operations results
- Build high performing work culture for the site in partnership with the leadership team
- Influence stakeholders by delivering meaningful messages with confidence
- Drive employee engagement programs to maintain high morale and engagement score (GPS) of employee
- Understand how the business’ priorities connect to the broader cross-functional goals through daily Gemba walk to connect with employees in the front line to have a good understanding of the pulse of the organization and proactively work on any gaps in people processes
- Ensure robust People & Culture process and delivery as per SLAs across Employee life cycle i.e. Recruitment, Onboarding, Talent Development, Employee Relations, Exit process
- Act as a thought partner with GM & Leadership team to enable organization changes to support transformation and deliver with the leadership team on OFG targets in terms of fixed cost savings on headcount
- Maintain a cohesive IR environment by building strong partnerships and collaboration with Union Committee
- Guide and support ER manager to lead CLA with Union
- Drive change management and partner with the leadership team to drive the digital journey for the plant
- Assesses capability gaps within teams and creates development plans to close gaps and improve capabilities
- Sustainably embed DE&I across all talent strategies
- Develop strategic messages to inform communication plans aligned to business People & Culture objectives
Leadership and People Management
- Provide direct management support to employees on all matters relating to people development and training, leave, compliance, and complaints.
- Set the development plan of people, set a clear strategic direction for communication with employees, enhance their leadership capacity and capability, and enable them to deliver robust operational support.
- Contribute to the management of other streams and other related work groups where required
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- MA/MS/MBA (Masters/Postgraduate/Advanced Degree)
- Minimum 15 years of experience of which at least 5+ years in a manufacturing environment with exposure to working with Unions
- Should have led People & Culture for complex manufacturing operations and a good awareness of plant working environment with a union in place.
- Strong analytical with excellent communication skills
- Teamworking, ability to network with people, and interpersonal skills
- Numeracy skills and proficiency in using IT
- Good organization and the ability to multitask
- The capability to work in a fast-paced environment and achieve targets
- Entrepreneurial spirit
