The Alicart Restaurant Group, the name behind the award winning, popular brands Carmine’s NYC Family Style Italian and Virgil’s Real BBQ is in search for a dynamic and detailed oriented HR Generalist. The selected candidate will manage various human resources functions, including employee relations, performance management, payroll support, and compliance with labor laws. This role is crucial in ensuring a positive work environment and supporting our team to deliver exceptional service and guiding the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR strategies, systems, and processes.

Responsibilities
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness; Maintain payroll records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure proper payroll funding; Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Mediate and resolve employee conflicts and grievances; Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records; Assist with benefits administration.
- Conduct interviews, reference checks, and extend job offers; Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems; Provide guidance to managers on performance improvement plans.
- Monitor and report on employee performance metrics.
- Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
- Conduct training sessions on HR-related topics, Support career development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in HR, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with payroll systems and benefits administration.
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus. Bilingual abilities are advantageous.
