Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests. If you have a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of food production and kitchen operations
- Ensure that food is prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks and prep cooks
- Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Monitor portion control and minimize waste
- Assist in creating schedules for kitchen staff
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team of cooks and prep cooks
- Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including food production, preparation, and presentation
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills:
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus
- Experience working in a hospitality or fine dining establishment
