Profile and Key Responsibilities
- The National Program Manager at Swiggy (hereafter referred to as NPM) plays the role of a co-pilot to the BH and oversees the program management & execution of all key business objectives to be delivered by the BH. The goal of the NPM is to partner with the BH in institutionalizing best-in-class systems and practices around biz planning, program management, execution excellence, and collaborating with stakeholders, in a way that helps the team achieve its business goals while also developing sustainable ways of working.
- NPM will also support the BH in identifying and driving initiatives/projects across functions/basket of metrics (CX/Growth/Operations) and help maximize execution across the country. Unlike traditional leadership roles that require focusing on a particular domain or function, the NPM role at Swiggy has very high breadth given the vantage point, and requires a high ownership mindset as well as the ability to tame complexity. The key facets of the role are as follows:
- Performance Management and Review Systems: The NPM is responsible for designing and orchestrating Performance Tracking and Review systems that help the company assess how it is progressing towards its goals and helps Management take corrective actions as needed. The NPM needs to endeavor to build and scale processes that get the job done while being deeply rooted in the company’s culture so that they stand the test of time. The NPM is also responsible for ensuring that the NBH is on top of business health across various pockets of the country and is alerted to risks in a timely manner so as to enable the right interventions. The NPM will also work closely with the NBH to draw up the vision/ambition bizops, and orchestrate the process of breaking down AOP goals along with the activity systems across the country.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and contracts.
- Partner with the marketing team to develop and execute category-specific campaigns.
- Strategic projects - The NPM will work closely with the BH to identify opportunities in areas around driving growth, improving cx, improving UE, and addressing these opportunities through effective project management. NPM will also be responsible for creating playbooks across different streams, collating best practices, and ensuring scale-up of the same across India.
Experience and Education
- The candidate for this position must ideally have 5- 7 years of work experience in a dynamic business environment, preferably in a central function such as strategy, planning, corporate development or finance (or at least managed these aspects of a business from the vantage point of a leader). The candidate must have some experience in directly managing team members with high pedigree and drive. The candidate must be skilled in managing and influencing stakeholders at the highest levels, including Management Teams (CXOs), without formal authority.
- The NPM must also have a master’s degree in Business Administration, or any other related business field, or have an equivalent of the same in their work experience. Meaningful work experience in Management Consulting (at least 2 years) is a significant plus.
