Summary:
Carhartt WIP seeks a detail-oriented and organized HR Assistant to support our People & Culture team. The HR Assistant will handle administrative and clerical duties, assist with recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and ensure smooth HR operations across our growing North American operations. The ideal candidate is proactive, inquisitive, eager to learn, highly organized, and has excellent communication skills.
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in recruitment processes, including job postings, resume screening, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires.
- Maintain employee records and ensure HR databases are updated with accurate information.
- Support HR processes such as benefits enrollment, payroll preparation, and performance evaluations.
- Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Prepare HR-related reports, presentations, and documents as needed.
- Assist in employee engagement initiatives and company events.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR information.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging workplace in-line with occupational safety and health guidelines, ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal company policies.
- Create and maintain job descriptions, team structure, and organizational charts.
- Partner with the HR Manager in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, including the creation and delivery of training and communication programs as needed.
- Assist in the creation and ongoing maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various HR functions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years' experience in an HR or administrative role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within a clothing/apparel organization a plus.
- Experience working with an HRIS/HRM system a plus.
- Compensation: $50-60K
