The Rocker Opportunity
The Vice President / Senior Vice President of People and Culture role is a critical leadership position that allows you to shape the team member experience and drive cultural transformation across the organization. This role will lead implementation for enterprise-wide and regional HR initiatives while engaging business leaders through change management, non-routine performance management issues, etc. This position may require up to 15% travel and scheduled on-call availability for emergencies.

Leadership Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR, Learning and Development (training) and Talent Management strategies aligning with Mission Rock’s mission and business objectives, prioritizing a positive team member experience, job performance, and legal compliance.
- Ensure all HR policies, processes, and practices meet or exceed current legal and regulatory standards, proactively address risks and stay ahead of emerging trends. Develop, modify and communicate changes efficiently and effectively.
- Champion a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture that fosters and drives accountability at every level. This includes upholding Mission Rock’s culture, including its values, equity statement, and T.R.U.S.T., to name a few.
- Implement efficient, scalable HR systems and processes that uphold compliance while enabling growth and adaptability.
- Champion and enhance a learning culture, guiding L&D programs, strategies, and solutions that meet team member’s learning needs while understanding and meeting business needs and trends based on feedback and data.
- Lead the talent acquisition efforts, including sourcing top talent, developing and documenting recruiting processes, and building a strong employer brand to attract diverse candidates.
- Oversee talent development and succession planning efforts, ensuring all practices are equitable, compliant, and aligned with organizational values.
- Partner with leadership teams to embed compliance and culture into every aspect of the organization, ensuring alignment across business functions. Develop effective internal communications strategy for leaders across the region.
Requirements
Job Qualifications
Knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems and integrations.
- Current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new development, and applicable federal and state legislation and requirements regarding human resources.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the administration of Benefits, Leave of Absence, Workers Compensation, COBRA, Payroll, 401k and other complex HR functions.
- Deep expertise in career path development, compensation structure design, benefit program assessment and recommendations, and perks for real estate or multifamily management companies..
Skills
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Deep understanding of the principles and functionalities of a HRIS system, including the ability to analyze data, manage system configurations, implement new features and leverage the system to optimize HR processes and decision-making across various modules like recruitment, performance management, payroll and employee benefits.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage positive communication in difficult situations and the ability to provide candid/constructive feedback

Experience
- 10+ years of experience in HR (including at least 5 years’ experience in HR leadership) is required, with a strong background in talent management, organizational development, and HR strategy.
- Multifamily industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS is required.
- Proven success in building strong, productive relationships with people and teams across a broad, diverse organization
- Experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), bringing a high degree of cultural intelligence.
- History of proven, measurable results for managing growth and aligning human resource processes and tools to support strategic business priorities.
- Experience leading and building teams and having prior success working with an executive leadership team, specifically within high-growth startups or technology-driven companies.
Education
- Degree in Business, Human Resources, or Organizational Development.
- Current SPHR or SHRM-CP
