The Standard is a media company that offers news and culture for Londoners, everywhere.
We deliver content through digital, audio, video, and social platforms, as well as a new weekly print product called The London Standard. We also create live experiences and events, and collaborate with a number of OOH partners.
Our headquarters are located in Finsbury Square, London.
About you
You are an experienced and successful project manager, with a history of overseeing the delivery of multi-media commercial content partnerships in a client facing role.
You have strong communication skills, acting as the point person for all internal stakeholders across sales, content, design, Ad Ops & flatplanning, insight & data, and editorial, as well as the media agency and client contacts across the project.
You have the ability to problem solve, ensuring all stakeholder objectives are heard and met, and you create a harmonious, positive experience for all involved. You’re a brilliant team player with a flexible, can-do attitude.
You have exceptional organisational skills, able to juggle multiple production timelines and delivery deadlines and keep all internal and external stakeholders on track.
You have a proven ability to manage, control and deliver the project p&l, including scoping out, costing and negotiating 3rd party services and talent fees.
You have experience in organising photo shoots and video shoots, and have a clear understanding of creative objectives.
You have experience of project management tools, e.g. Trello
You have experience and skills in reporting with a keen eye for data analysis, understanding systems and how to optimise campaign delivery to ensure all KPIs and deliverables are met.
Skills and experience
- Significant project management experience within a media owner/publisher
- A proven track record of managing multi-media commercial content campaigns and partnerships
- Strong organisational skills and ability to deliver campaign KPIs and a healthy P&L
- Photo/video shoot experience with an understanding of delivering creative objectives
- Event management experience advantageous but not essential
- Systems and tools skills including project delivery and data reporting
- A brilliant communicator able to be the lead contact for large internal and internal stakeholder groups, creating a positive, productive, respectful and harmonious experience for all parties
- A confident presenter, able to lead project meetings and PCAs, both in terms of producing high quality presentation documents and presenting them in person
The team and role purpose
The Standard Studio is our in-house content partnerships arm, delivering award winning, highly effective multi-media partnerships across every platform in The Standard portfolio.
The Standard Studio comprises sales, content, design, project management and insight, with an end to end service from Brief to PCA. With experts on every platform, The Standard Studio has won multiple industry awards for delivering market-leading content partnerships delivering ROI for clients, with superb client management throughout.
We work hand in hand with Editorial across the business, devising and creating content of the highest quality that delivers for our readers, for our brand, and for the client
The Project Manager will work alongside other Project Managers in the Standard Studio, each taking responsibility for several live campaigns of varying sizes and complexity at any one time, ensuring each delivers on every KPI and objective, that they are delivered on time and to budget, and with market-leading client service and experience. You will do this by having excellent internal relationships and building a strong reputation with media agencies, clients, and third party suppliers.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Work closely with the sales team to input on partnerships sales pitches, including draft p&ls and timelines to ensure a seamless transition from pitch to sign off to production
- Devise robust internal workflows and process, creating the Kick Off meeting collateral and leading the project from KO meeting onwards, being the primary point of contact for all stakeholders
- Manage talent/third party supplier negotiations and contracts
- Oversee photo/video shoots
- Work closely with content and design to ensure timelines are adhered to and briefs, feedback and requests are interpreted correctly
- Manage and host weekly status calls
- Oversee the pacing and delivery of the campaign and that the KPIs are always on track to be met through regular contact with Ad Ops and data teams and interpreting reporting
- Troubleshoot any campaign issues or client conflict
- Keep control of the P&L, understanding risk, cost implications and liaising with key internal departments including Finance
- Ensure campaigns are delivered in full, meeting and exceeding every expectation and KPI
- Create and present campaign PCAs
- Be a key member of the Standard Studio, a highly collaborative operator and communicator that thrives on creativity, innovation and team spirit
