The Opportunity
Our Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Communications and Branding Manager will be responsible for designing and leading a broad range of brand, marketing, and communications strategies to support the Civil, Structural and Construction Engineering (CS+C) Service Line within the SJ Group’s Buildings + Cities Business Line.
This role will directly manage a portfolio of brands to bring together the combined expertise of our global brand, marketing, and communications community to promote the SJ Group’s world-leading expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of marketing, brand and communication strategy development and execution. You will shape and lead campaigns, programs and initiatives that align with strategic business priorities in the ANZ region.
- Manage calendar/timeline of integrated multi-channel tactics including conferences, client events, awards, social media, thought leadership and editorial activities, including budgetary requirements and KPI reporting.
- Own content strategy to support overall business objectives. Source and write, edit, and proofread various forms of targeted communications for a broad range of audiences across the executive communications, internal/studio communications, and external communications functions.
- Content will include but is not limited to Town Hall presentations, internal newsletters, award entries, case studies, brochures, thought leadership, digital content, client presentations and email marketing content aligned to brand messaging which support our campaigns.
- Shape and lead impactful public relations strategies that connect to brand and business goals and respond to current issues and trends in regional media landscapes. This will include profiling projects, thought leadership, talent, executive profiles, special campaigns, and other activities.
- Contribute to the digital content strategy for RBG and SJ's global business. Write and produce social media content to support both strategic initiatives and ad hoc requests.
- Plan and lead strategic events aligned with business objectives including client engagement events, conference support, networking events as well as company led events, both in-person and virtual.
- Project manage and liaise with creative department and other teams to create engaging collateral in support of campaigns and initiatives.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support growth strategies – monitor trends & developments relevant to specific regions, markets, sectors, service lines, and other topics aligned with business goals.
- Prepare monthly progress reports for leadership teams on both business-as-usual and strategic activities, sourcing analytics where appropriate to demonstrate return on investment.
- Participate regularly in regional & global team meetings & other initiatives as required.
Experience and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will have integrated marketing and communications experience, preferably with multi-brand portfolios in a leadership-oriented role and preferably with relevant industry experience in engineering or construction background.
Position requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least five years of experience in a leadership-oriented role.
- Exceptional English written and verbal proficiency including copywriting (creative + business) and editing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
- Must be highly detail-oriented with a strong drive for results, yet also flexible
- A self-starter with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Excellent time management and organisational skills; ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Client centric attitude, embracing firm brand and values
Preferred, but not mandatory:
- Relevant industry experience preferred – experience working in a similar role ideally in professional services
- Proficiency with graphics and publishing software (e.g. MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite [Photoshop, InDesign], and web-based tools)
- Proficiency working in open-source web applications
- Experience with CRM systems
