Purpose of the role:
The Learning and Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. This role involves creating, implementing, and managing Learning and Development (L&D) strategies, including the introduction and maintenance of a Learning Management System (LMS). The role also includes driving employee engagement initiatives to ensure a positive, productive, and inclusive workplace environment.
Learning and Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Learning and Development (L&D) strategy aligned with organisational goals.
- Lead the selection, implementation, and ongoing management of a robust Learning Management System (LMS) to support employee training and development.
- Design, curate, and deliver engaging learning experiences, including workshops, e-learning modules, and leadership development initiatives.
- Assess learning needs across the organisation and create tailored programs to meet these needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of L&D programs, using feedback and data to continuously improve offerings.
- Identify external training providers and resources to complement internal programs where necessary.
- Working closely with the Head of People Operations and Development to roll out the annual Training Calendar
Employee Engagement:
- Design and implement employee engagement strategies that foster a positive work culture and increase employee engagement.
- Lead the execution of regular employee engagement initiatives, including Staff surveys, running focus groups, and forums to gather feedback and measure employee sentiment.
- Working closely with Corporate Communications Manager to commission employer branding, the Scoop and other internal communications.
- Analyse survey results and engagement data to identify trends, key issues, and areas for improvement, reporting findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Develop and deliver programs to improve employee engagement, including team-building activities, organisational events, and internal communications.
Organisational Events:
- Plan, organise, and execute organisation-wide events aimed at improving workplace culture, increasing employee engagement, and fostering inclusion. This will include our, Annual Staff Conference (L&P Fest), Discovery Days, Annual Summer Picnic, Academy Sessions and other cultural and social events arranged by the EDI Council and other Staff Networks.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that events are accessible, inclusive, and reflective of the diverse makeup of the organisation.
Line manage the Office Experience Manager
- Providing support and guidance to ensure the smooth operation of office facilities.
- Work closely with the Office Experience Manager to ensure that the office environment is inclusive, welcoming, and aligned with the organisation’s EDI goals.
- Oversee the implementation of workplace adjustments and accessibility improvements to create a positive office experience for all staff.
- Ensure the Office Experience Manager maintains high standards of office services, from health and safety to hospitality, creating a professional and positive physical workspace.
- Proven experience in Learning and Development, including the design and delivery of training programs.
- Expertise in implementing and managing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences at all levels of the organisation.
- Analytical mindset, with experience in using data to measure and improve the impact of learning and engagement initiatives.
- Dynamic and proactive approach, with a passion for fostering growth and development in others.
- Leadership and people management experience, with a collaborative and supportive style.
