The Principal Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and executing an Employer brand strategy for InvoiceCloud. In this role, you will be guided by the Chief Marketing Officer and Chief People Officer and will work cross-functionally to execute internal communication initiatives from concept to delivery. As tenured Internal Communications leader, you will ensure communication messaging and materials are accurate, high-quality, and aligned with the company’s brand strategy.
The Principal Internal Communications Manager will also play a crucial role in shaping and promoting InvoiceCloud's employer brand. This involves creating a compelling narrative about what makes InvoiceCloud a unique and attractive place to work. By aligning this employer branding strategy with InvoiceCloud's overall mission and values, you will help attract, engage, and retain top talent. You'll be responsible for ensuring our employer brand is consistently communicated across all internal and external channels, including job postings, social media, company website, and during the recruitment process. You will collaborate with teams across the company to gather and share stories that highlight our culture, work environment, employee achievements, and opportunities for growth and development. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will establish and oversee all internal communications and employer branding processes, ensuring that they effectively convey our employer brand to both current and potential future employees. You will establish and oversee all internal communications processes by devising ways to effectively share internal company information with/between our employees. You will determine which platforms we will be using, establish specific channels for project teams, and facilitate communication of important developments and project updates between departments. In addition, you are to ensure that all team members adhere to these processes by following the established internal communications protocols.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in the development and execution of an employer brand strategy for InvoiceCloud
- Establish and oversee all internal communications and employer branding processes, ensuring that they effectively convey our employer brand to both current and potential future employees
- Ensuring our employer brand is consistently communicated across all internal and external channels, including job postings, social media, company website, and during the recruitment process
- Consult with executive management to develop effective and scalable communication procedures and policies for various initiatives
- Support leadership and functional teams by crafting strategic messaging and programming to enable scalable communications
- Approach messaging with a creative mindset to develop talk tracks and thematic narratives that reinforces to all teammates that InvoiceCloud is an employer of choice, known for its commitment to its employees and its positive, inclusive, and inspiring workplace culture.
- Aid leadership by keeping employees updated about decisions made during important company meetings, disseminating briefings to all internal stakeholders, and communicating our leadership’s vision in a clear and consistent manner
- Think critically about questions and concerns that may arise as a result of messaging, proactively create Q&A templates
- Partner with broader corporate functions to explore/recommend new channels or technologies where possible
- Define and measure KPIs associated with Employer brand and internal communications
- Assist in the planning, coordination and execution of internal employee events as needed
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- 7-10 years of marketing and strategic communications experience, experience in fintech is a plus
- Exceptional communication abilities with confidence in communicating across the organization, with cross-functional stakeholders
- Proactive self-starter, demonstrating high initiative and critical thinking. Proven ability to think strategically, but with exceptional attention to detail in execution
- Editorial mentality that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create content
- Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with and translate executive priorities into meaningful communications campaigns that connect with target audiences
- Proven success leading multiple efforts simultaneously using outstanding project management skills, as well as in shaping/producing content in a variety of formats, including video and event/presentation storytelling
- Ability to forge critical partnerships, influence effectively, and develop solutions that drive outcomes
- Attention to detail and willingness to be a change agent
- Professional understanding of crisis management and crisis communications
- Experience working across HR and Marketing functions
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing preferred

Establishing clear guidelines gives both the hiring team and applicants a clear understanding of the position's game plan for the first 6 months.
First 30 days
- Gain an understanding of our corporate structure, including history and go-forward strategy for InvoiceCloud as a stand-alone operating company
- Meet with Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and other team members to understand collaboration processes, opportunities, and workflow
- Review current messaging, delivery mechanisms and team feedback; establish benchmarks
- Finalize plan for immediate priorities
First 60 days
- Become proficient in historical brand messaging and tone
- Develop initial corporate narrative based on existing materials and onboarding assessments
- Gain an understanding of the competitive landscape
- Implement action plans for immediate priorities
- Gain an understanding of the 2024 roadmap and goals for both Marketing and Human Resources
- Establish initial strategic recommendations and process improvements
First 90 days
- Build out internal communications playbook
- Become go-to SME for strategic internal messaging
- Based on 2024 roadmap, develop action plans, including recommendations, for review and approval by key stakeholders
- Initiate development of established programs including quarterly all hands, etc.
Base Compensation Range: ($120,000.00 to $150,000.00) annually
Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
The above represents the expected base compensation range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider many factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
