The Role
As the Head of People, you will report to the Co-Founder & CSO and the Head of Staff. You'll play a crucial role in shaping and evolving our organizational culture. You will be responsible for managing the HR functions, addressing the challenges of rapid growth, and implementing strategies to foster a positive and productive work environment. Your role will be pivotal in supporting our team, scaling our operations, and driving our mission forward.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company’s goals and values.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing candidates, interviewing alongside hiring managers, selection, and offer negotiation.
- Partner with leadership and managers to develop and manage a career development toolkit.
- Manage payroll and benefits administration as the main point of contact with providers.
- Address and resolve employee issues, mediate conflicts, and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Enhance company culture to ensure a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Implement and analyze HR metrics to drive decision-making and improve organizational performance.
- Collaborate with leadership to support company growth and align HR practices with business objectives.
- Lead initiatives for employee engagement and retention, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, staying updated with best practices in HR management.
- Develop training programs that enhance employee skills and support career advancement.
- Facilitate performance appraisal processes and provide guidance on performance improvement plans.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in HR, with a proven track record in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Proven Experience in Recruitment and Talent Management
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and organizational development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with HR systems and tools, data analysis, and HR metrics.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment with shifting priorities and challenges.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) preferred.
