Position Summary
The People Operations Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting our growing organization by managing HR operations, recruiting processes, and company culture initiatives for a team of up to 40 employees. This position will be instrumental in maintaining and improving our people-focused practices. This role will balance between the traditional Human Resources approach: Focusing on the administrative and compliance side of managing employees. Prioritizing policies, legal compliance, payroll, benefits, and other foundational HR functions. Which is often more reactive, addressing issues as they arise (e.g., employee disputes, performance problems) and the more modern and strategic People Operations (People Ops) approach: Focusing on creating a great employee experience and optimizing the people side of the business. Emphasizing employee engagement, workplace culture, and aligning people strategy with business goals. Proactively, aiming to build systems and processes that drive employee satisfaction, productivity, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute comprehensive recruitment and onboarding processes
- Develop and maintain effective performance management systems
- Manage payroll, benefits, and employee records through Insperity
- Create and implement employee engagement and retention initiatives
- Create and maintain programs that foster a positive and engaging workplace environment
- Ensure compliance with employment laws while maintaining people-first practices
- Facilitate professional development and learning opportunities
- Lead employee communication and feedback channels
- Analyze people metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Manage employee relations and support conflict resolution
- Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Coordinate leave management and time-off tracking
- Drive workplace safety and wellness programs
- Support organizational change management initiatives
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in people operations or human resources
- Demonstrated success in building positive workplace culture and programs
- Proficiency with Insperity or similar HRIS platforms
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements
- Experience in developing and implementing employee engagement programs
- Excellence in both written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- PHR certification preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Experience with performance management systems and processes
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across all levels
- Track record of implementing successful people-focused initiatives
