Title: People Experience Manager
Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Director of People Experience
Office Location: 224 W Hill Street, Suite 410, Chicago IL.
Schedule: Monday – Friday with required in-office minimum of 3 days per week (hybrid work policy subject to change)

Who We Are Looking For
The People Experience (PX) Manager supports NAMI Chicago’s mission by executing day-to-day people processes including by not limited to onboarding, offboarding, HRIS management, and performance management and benefits administration. Reporting to the Director of People Experience, the People Experience Manager brings experience in full cycle recruiting and cultivates positive recruiting experience for candidates, provides guidance to hiring managers, sources candidates, conducts interviews, and tracks and reports progress.
The PX Manager will handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and managers escalating complex and/or sensitive employee relations matters. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated innovator with sensitivity to mental health issues and strong organizational skills.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Employee Relations and Employee Engagement
- Provides coaching and support to employees and managers for employee relations matters.
- Support strategic planning for people related programs (i.e. culture programs, employee engagement, people plans and metrics and organizational changes).
- Assist in the development of an enhanced onboarding program.
- Ensure successful onboarding of new joiners and liaise with department managers on onboarding needs.
- Gather and analyze people’s metrics, draw meaningful insights and propose actions to address trends.
- Assist with change management initiatives.
- Responsible for maintaining the Paylocity HRIS system, employee record/status system updates and leading system upgrade implementations.
- Assist in the analysis of pulse survey data and support the development of action plans and follow up initiatives that strengthens and elevates the people experience of the team.
Recruitment
- Manages and administers the recruitment process to include collaborating with hiring managers to determine hiring needs and strategy for sourcing candidates, reviewing candidate resumes, conducting interviews, managing candidate interview schedules, and corresponding with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and trends impacting talent acquisition and compliance.
- Engage and build strategic recruiting relationships with community organizations, universities and workforce development centers.
- Manage the maintenance of data in Paylocity Recruitment Applicant Tracking System to include recurring reporting on progress and ad hoc reports.
- Assist with employer branding efforts.
- Review, update and maintain job descriptions.
- Develop, standardize and revise interview process and tools across teams.
- Develop and manage the NAMI Chicago Internship program.
Benefits Administration
- Responsible for day-to-day management of all employee benefit programs.
- Compile and maintain benefit and medical records and documents, beneficiary status updates, new hire enrollment and termination of benefits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for benefit inquiries.
- Manage employee request for medical leaves and accommodation request process.
- Audit insurance bills monthly, prepare monthly insurance costs and utilization report, manage insurance compliance requests, and remain up to date on insurance laws.
- Send monthly or quarterly reminders about the use of time off benefits.
- Educate new hires and current employees on benefit offerings.
- Advise employees on eligibility, coverage and other benefits matters.
Performance Management
- Assist in the development of performance management metrics and the annual and/or midyear process.
- Provide day-to-day performance guidance including coaching employees and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Manage the execution of the performance management process.
- Review completed performance reviews in Paylocity and provide recommendations to managers regarding professional development opportunities, goal setting, etc..
Requirements

- Familiarity with internet sourcing skills, such as Boolean search and experience with some of the following: LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed or other job boards.
- Ability to manage ad-hoc projects along with day-to-day responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with Talent Development Manager on various talent management priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources.
- At least 3 years of experience in a generalist role, with a focus on employee relations and full lifecycle recruitment.
- Excellent project management, organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs.
- Proficient use of HRIS systems, knowledge of Paylocity software.
- Communicate effectively at all levels.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, Outlook/Exchange; Windows operating systems; and other software routinely used by NAMI Chicago.

Annual Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000/year
