Position Overview
Analytic Services Inc. (ANSER) is seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to effectively communicate our mission, values and initiatives. This role will cover a broad range of strategic external and internal communications including media and strategic storytelling and social media.
Day To Day Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive approach to internal communications across the organization, setting the strategic direction in close collaboration with the executive team.
- Align internal messaging, employee experience and employer branding with the company’s mission, core behaviors and product positioning.
- Provide counsel to our executives and senior leaders to help shape communication that provides clarity and impact.
- Maintain, make improvements and/or scale our internal communication channels and platforms, including intranet and newsletters, to ensure employees stay informed.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition team to build out our employer and internal branding strategy to position ANSER as a Best-in-Class employer that attracts a diverse pool of job seekers.
- Work with Human Resources team to develop communication strategies that drive engagement and enhance employee experience.
- Manage the organization’s internal editorial calendar, using it to deliver communications relating to people and company topics, change communication, as well as items related to ANSER’s culture.
- Manage ANSER’s brand guidelines.
- Keep current with trends around employee engagement in order to provide guidance and best practices to internal stakeholders to help inspire ideas and innovation for internal communications.
- Develop and execute strategic company narrative and executive positioning plans aligned with the overall business strategy, performance objectives and trending news topics/issues.
- Create compelling content for various channels, including press releases, articles, presentations, documents, briefings, employee platforms and digital/social media content.
- Partner on message development and provide media training and coaching as appropriate for key executive spokespeople.
- Manage communication projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams, industry, and government stakeholders to coordinate external communication activities and ensure consistency of messaging.
- Develop and manage key media relationships at the local, state and national level, ensuring a consistent and comprehensive approach to all external communications.
- Develop, maintain and coordinate rapid-response crisis communications team and plan.
- Leverages communication best practices, survey data, and available analytics to implement strategic, multi-faceted communications programs designed to build and strengthen ANSER's reputation as a leader in the mission focused government contracting industry.
- Track and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee media measurement and monitoring to stay abreast of the industry and sustainability landscape; evolve public relations strategies based on data and insights.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- Seven (7) years progressive experience in strategic communications or public relations
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans including stakeholder analyses, key themes and messages, engagement strategies, and performance measures
- Solid experience using social media, including how to maximize its value as a communications tool while balancing risks
- Exemplary writing and versatile communications skills to translate complex technical content into clear and compelling messaging; draft and edit strategic communications material including press releases, speeches, memos and statements
- Hands on experience with MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in strategic communications in the Defense industry preferred.
- Previous experience in an in-house communications role is preferred.
