The Project Manager Human Resources is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and management of program and project activities across Nestlé’s NiM HR portfolio. Responsibilities include developing project charters, detailed plans, and budgets, as well as leading program and project teams in a matrix organization to achieve and report on program and project activities. The goal is to ensure that results meet negotiated customer expectations and adhere to internal standards and strategies. Additionally, the individual will help resolve cross-functional and cross-business issues and must communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels in the organization. This position reports to the Senior Manager of HR Portfolio & Project Management.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage programs and projects with moderate to high complexity, coordinating with multiple functions and Operating Companies.
- Develop and administer program and project plans and budgets; identify project goals, build project strategy and approach, secure staffing, build schedule, identify potential risks and mitigating plans and allocation of available resources; and communication
- Support program and project reporting and documentation processes; deliver status reports and analysis for management on an on-going basis; track and resolve issues; escalate to management as necessary.
- Coordinate with executive stakeholders to ensure program and project scope and schedule are adhered to; ensure proposed changes are aligned with objectives and are conducted in accordance with agreed upon project change processes.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with partners to ensure project/program management processes are integrated between internal teams including HR CoEs/CoCs, IT/Technical support, Nestlé Operating Company Stakeholders (HR, Finance, Legal) and external vendors.
- Balance needs of multiple stakeholders and gain buy-in from groups who may be resistant to change.
- Lead the Change Management approach for the project when dedicated Change Management resources aren’t dedicated to the project.
- Provide coaching, guidance and project management support to the broader HR Function as needed.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
- Formal training or relevant work experience in project management is required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other relevant project management certifications are a plus.
- Ability to handle highly confidential HR information in a professional manner.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
- Experience successfully managing multiple functional and technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success as a project manager driving projects in complex, matrix, global environment, executing across multiple time-zones and cultures.
- 3+ years of exposure to HR systems preferred.
- Consulting experience highly desirable.
SKILLS:
- Excellent program and project management skills, with experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale initiatives from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.
- Strong knowledge of program and project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms.
- Strong customer service skills, including aptitude for working with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to adapt to changing project requirements or scope.
- Strong creative problem-solving skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems that may not have one clear answer; the ability to identify alternatives, workarounds or temporary solutions.
- Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret functional and technical requirements.
- Ability to set clear expectations and hold cross functional teams accountable to all deliverables.
- Ability to lead teams and coach team members in a matrix organization without a direct formal reporting relationship to drive for timely results and high-quality deliverables.
