The Amazon Music Artist Relations team is looking for an experienced professional to work with key members of the New York creative community, including: artists, managers, attorneys, & more to facilitate increased collaboration with Amazon Music. The Artist Relations Manager will be a passionate advocate on behalf of customers educating, influencing and driving mutually beneficial results. This role is primarily responsible for managing Artist Relations programs across Amazon Music by working internally and externally with artist managers. A successful candidate for this role will be an independent, creative problem-solver with great business acumen, and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while managing competing deadlines. This person will also lean in to artist management teams across the Hip Hop and R&B genres, but not exclusively.
Key job responsibilities
- Facilitating and encouraging positive discussions between artists/managers, as well as teams within Hip Hop and R&B artist management community (e.g. artist meetings, host/join artist playbacks in office/off-site)
- Manage end to end internal and external pitches and campaign launches for Artist Relations Programs (examples: hip-hop/R&B Breakthrough program, Amazon Music Originals)
- Work with international colleagues to identify relevant growth opportunities
- Develop compelling solutions for artists to engage in initiatives with Amazon Music, resulting in business growth for the artist
- Work on the ground to represent Amazon Music to manage the Artist Relations comms at events, festivals, Amazon Music Live, etc.
- Develop key relationships and act as an Amazon Music ambassador within the artist community and the larger music industry
- Demonstrate Music apps to the artist and manager community to show them the benefits of Amazon Music
- Knowledge of cultural trends, music expertise in Hip-Hop/R&B, but not excluding other genres and of the industry landscape to make informed content strategy recommendations
- Monitor, and review content performance for the artist team, making recommendations to improve plans to deliver shared goals
A day in the life
- Organization – At any given time, they will be responsible for intake of touchpoints across Artist Relations, Amazon Music Originals, the Rotation (Hip Hop & R&B brand) team and pitching artists across the org for various opportunities– they will need to know how to prioritize and allocate time effectively.
- Working with Ambiguity – this person needs to be well aware of how to succeed in an environment where they will need to carve their own path.
- Dive Deep – we need someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and work at all levels.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the music industry
- Proven track record of successful long term client/account relationship management for media or licensing businesses
- Exceptional organizational and people skills, as well as outstanding strategic and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and act as both an influencer and an ambassador on behalf of Amazon Music and Amazon.com is a must
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $69,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $148,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
