UPS is seeking a Vice President of Talent & Learning to lead strategies for developing enterprise talent across all management levels. Reporting to the Global Head of Talent, Learning & Corporate Functions, you will be responsible for executing talent development initiatives within the Global Talent and Learning organization.
You will lead the global strategy for learning and talent development at UPS, ensuring alignment with organizational and regional goals, largely focused on future skills needed in the organization. You will develop programs in workforce strategy, organizational design, performance management, learning, leadership development, and succession management through the executive level. As a staff manager, you partner with HR and business leaders and ensure talent programs are effective, simple, and aligned with the needs of the business. Additionally, the VP is accountable for the results achieved by the Talent Management COE, Learning, and Performance teams.
Responsibilities
- Align HR initiatives with strategic goals by identifying talent needs and closing skill gaps across the enterprise.
- Foster a values-driven workplace culture and plan for future talent needs by focusing on the execution of the Enterprise Talent Strategy.
- Drive initiatives supporting organizational culture, change management, and leadership development.
- Design and oversee talent development programs (leadership, succession planning, career growth, training, mentorship).
- Create development planning toolkits for our business customers to enhance their focus on which investments to prioritize for their high potential candidates.
- Ensure effective delivery of training and professional development opportunities.
- Create, monitor, evaluate, and improve learning and succession initiatives based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Conduct skill-gap evaluations and provide integrated solutions to close gaps.
- Lead performance management, including goal setting, reviews, and feedback while building strategies for overall enterprise performance improvement.
- Create critical position framework easily understood by our customer base and create and lead the succession planning process for the Enterprise.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and executive leadership to align the Enterprise Talent Strategy with local strategies enabling our people to drive business outcomes.
- Establish and track KPIs to measure the effectiveness of all programs.
- Lead and coach teams, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Develop succession planning approaches to ensure an Enterprise pipeline of talent.
- Contribute to succession reviews and leadership team talent processes to strengthen critical roles and development plans.
- Track and manage data related to talent management and succession.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for employment, development, culture, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, and training.
- Design programs to engage and retain employees, focusing on development pathways and performance management.
- Be a master collaborator with a bias for results and talent building.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, Organizational Behavior, or related field (advanced degree preferred). Certified executive coach and HR Business Partner experience a plus.
- 10+ years in HR or talent management, including 5+ years in executive succession planning.
- Proven success in developing and implementing talent and learning strategies with effective tools and technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with experience presenting to executive teams through PowerPoint.
- Strong ability to balance creating strategy with the ability to execute the strategy for results.
- Ability to build business cases focused on ROI, and strong technology skills a must.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on results and execution.
- Extensive experience leading HR teams in a COE environment for large scale organizations.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across the business.
- Expertise in employee development, performance management, succession planning and training.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making and technology.
- Experience identifying skill gaps and creating strategies to close them
- WorkDay experience a plus.
- This position is based in Atlanta (Sandy Springs), GA, and the incumbent is expected to work onsite.
