About the Team
The Corporate Communications team leads on initiatives to protect and enhance brand reputation, reacts to regulatory and legislative changes and defends the platform against external challenges. This includes media relations, message development, thought leadership and crisis and incident management. The team partners closely with Public Policy, Legal, Trust and Safety, and Product colleagues along with other cross-functional teams, providing strategic counsel on the development of core strategies.

About the Role
TikTok is seeking a dynamic and strategic Corporate Communications Media Relations Manager to join our Global Brand & Communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and maintaining TikTok's public image by building strong relationships with media outlets, developing strategic communications plans, and managing media inquiries. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to craft and amplify TikTok's corporate narrative, ensuring that key messages reach the right audiences through various media channels. Ideal candidates are resourceful media professionals that are just as comfortable handling breaking news as they are pitching key reporters. You have experience crafting compelling narratives and media strategies, and you possess a passion for storytelling. You lead with empathy and a people-first mindset. This is a highly collaborative role, working with other members of our Global Brand & Communications team, as well as cross-functional partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries, ensuring timely, accurate, and strategic responses.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities for positive media coverage across relevant media outlets.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets and journalists.
- Craft compelling narratives and media materials, including blog posts, statements, fact sheets, and talking points.
- Work with the Communications Insights team to monitor media coverage and social media to proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Marketing, Legal, and Public Policy teams, to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
- Support the broader team and during high-pressure situations.
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $90000 - $105000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
