Position Overview:
The Regional Head / Vice President of Human Resources and People Services (Asia Pacific) will lead the HR function across the region, ensuring that HR strategies and people operations are aligned with the company’s growth objectives and operational needs. This role is responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, and compliance across the Asia Pacific region. As the regional HR leader, you will be the strategic partner to the business, providing guidance and expertise on people-related matters while driving initiatives that enhance employee experience and support business success.
In this role, you will work closely with regional business leaders, ensuring that HR programs and initiatives are effectively implemented in each market. You will oversee key functions such as compensation, benefits, performance management, and learning and development, while also managing critical people services like payroll and employee relations. A key priority will be fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and performance across all markets, while ensuring compliance with local labor laws and regulations. The successful candidate will have the ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, managing the complexities of diverse markets while driving consistency and alignment with the company’s global HR strategy.
As a leader of the regional HR team, you will also be responsible for developing and mentoring HR professionals, ensuring the team is equipped to meet the evolving needs of the business. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of HR practices across the Asia Pacific region, along with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive organizational change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of HR strategies across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring alignment with global business goals.
- Oversee talent acquisition efforts to attract and retain top talent in key markets, driving employer branding initiatives.
- Develop and implement employee engagement and retention programs to foster a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
- Lead leadership development and succession planning initiatives to build a strong leadership pipeline within the region.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and employment regulations across all countries in the Asia Pacific region, providing guidance to business leaders.
- Collaborate with senior business leaders to understand business needs and ensure HR strategies support operational and commercial goals.
- Manage compensation, benefits, and performance management processes, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with company policies.
- Oversee payroll, employee relations, and HR operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and adherence to legal and company standards.
- Lead and develop the regional HR team, providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure high performance and career growth.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR strategies and programs, making data-driven adjustments where necessary.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in HR, with a focus on regional roles across multiple markets, preferably in the Asia Pacific region.
- Proven track record of success in leading HR strategy development and implementation in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, and HR compliance in diverse markets.
- Demonstrated experience in managing cross-cultural teams and building strong relationships with business leaders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in HR technologies and data analytics, with experience in using HR metrics to drive decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws and employment practices in key Asia Pacific markets.
- Experience in the hospitality, service, or related industry is a plus.
