About the Role
We’re hiring a Head of People to help shape the culture, systems, and processes that empower our team to do their best work. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for building people-first organizations.
You’ll own everything from talent acquisition and onboarding to org design, performance, L&D, and culture. You’ll work closely with leadership to ensure Cinch remains an amazing place to work whilst we scale
What You’ll Do
People Strategy & Org Design
- Define and implement Cinch’s People strategy to support rapid growth, with a strong emphasis on building for scale in a hybrid work environment.
- Partner with leadership to design an agile, scalable org structure with clear roles, leveling frameworks, and career development paths.
- Lead workforce planning and headcount forecasting across departments, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
- Build and scale a high-performing recruiting function, optimizing for speed, candidate experience, and quality of hire.
- Develop hiring playbooks, inclusive interview practices, and training to ensure consistency and fairness.
- Shape Cinch’s employer brand to attract top-tier talent across multiple geographies, both in-person and remote.
- Champion DEI across all stages of the hiring lifecycle—from outreach to offer acceptance.
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Design and execute a high-impact onboarding program that supports hybrid team members and fosters early connection to Cinch’s mission and values.
- Build rituals, programming, and systems that promote engagement, collaboration, and culture across distributed teams.
- Establish processes to continually improve employee experience, regardless of location or work style.
Performance, Growth & Development
- Launch and evolve a performance enablement framework grounded in clear expectations, continuous feedback, and measurable outcomes.
- Develop growth-oriented L&D programs that support professional development and leadership readiness across a hybrid team.
- Create systems that support transparent goal setting (e.g. OKRs), recognition, and skill-building.
Culture & Engagement
- Be the steward of Cinch’s culture, ensuring that our values are reflected in every employee experience—especially as we scale across locations.
- Lead initiatives that drive employee engagement and belonging, including culture events, surveys, and hybrid team-building experiences.
- Support employee-led communities and inclusion initiatives that reflect the diversity of our growing team.
People Operations & Systems
- Build scalable, tech-enabled people processes that power hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, and team communications.
- Own and evolve our people tech stack (HRIS, ATS, engagement platforms), ensuring tools support a seamless hybrid employee journey.
- Stay up-to-date with HR best practices and legal compliance, especially across jurisdictions where our employees work.
Leadership Coaching & Manager Enablement
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers, supporting them with org design, team dynamics, and individual coaching.
- Build scalable manager training programs to empower leaders to lead with clarity, empathy, and inclusion in a hybrid-first context.
Who You Are
- 8–10 years of experience in People/HR roles, ideally in high-growth startups or fast-paced environments.
- A strong builder with experience setting up people's functions from scratch or scaling them significantly.
- Passionate about employee experience, culture, and leadership development.
- Deep understanding of org design, talent strategy, and performance management.
- Adept at both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
- Data-informed and comfortable using tools/systems to drive people's decisions.
- Strong communicator with empathy, humility, and high EQ.
- A self starter that can thrive in uncertain environments
- Experience supporting diverse, distributed, or global teams is a plus.
