As the Director of People Operations, you will build, manage, and lead a dynamic team of People Operations professionals to execute on a wide range of Human Resources functions, including but not limited to benefits administration, employee relations, risk management, and compliance. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership and other business partners to ensure our People Operations strategies are aligned with business goals, fostering a culture of growth, efficiency, and compliance. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement in HR processes, systems, and services that support the scalability and growth of the organization.
In This Role
- Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of People Operations professionals, ensuring the successful execution of HR activities such as benefits, employee relations, and risk management
- Proactively assess business needs and develop strategic solutions through the People Operations function to drive efficiency, productivity, and employee engagement
- Lead automation initiatives to improve HR efficiency and streamline workflows, reducing manual effort and increasing process accuracy
- Partner with the Chief People Officer (CPO) to drive and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that aligns with company objectives
- Collaborate with the broader people leadership team to ensure HR strategies and initiatives are implemented effectively across the organization, both strategically and operationally
- Own, optimize, and implement People Operations systems and processes, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements
- Continuously evaluate existing HR technologies and make recommendations for improvements that enhance user experience, data accuracy, and operational efficiency
- Act as a trusted business partner to senior leaders, providing strategic guidance on matters related to talent management, culture, and organizational effectiveness
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with leaders across all departments to ensure business processes are aligned and support company growth
- Provide clear goals, regular feedback, and growth opportunities to foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture
- Develop and manage relationships with external vendors, including negotiating clear scopes of work, ensuring timely service delivery, and keeping projects within budget
- Lead vendor selection processes for HR systems and solutions that will enhance the People Operations function
- Provide expert advice and support to business units on complex HR-related issues, including regulatory compliance, employee relations, risk management, and organizational development
- Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and reporting requirements
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with legal standards and reflect the organization’s values

The Ideal Person
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is highly desirable
- Extensive knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and HR technologies
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations
- Thorough understanding and application of HR principles, concepts, practices, and standards
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- High degree of individual initiative and personal accountability
