Media Development Investment Fund (MDIF) is seeking a global

Role Overview
The People & Culture Manager role focuses on supporting our organization and its diverse, international team by implementing HR strategies that maintain compliance and drive staff performance, motivation, engagement and development across our organization of 65 people working in 23 different countries.
The ideal candidate will have experience in global HR practices and should be skilled at building trust, solving problems, and fostering a sense of belonging across cultural and geographic boundaries.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations:
- Manage global HR processes, including on-boarding, performance reviews, and exit interviews, ensuring that they are equitable and people-centered.
- Oversee compliance with local labor laws and global HR standards in collaboration with in-house legal department and regional managers.
- Review and maintain HR related policies and procedures in collaboration with in-house legal department.
- Partner with managers to address team dynamics and provide guidance on best practices in people management.
Compensation & Benefits:

- Monitor global market trends to ensure our practices remain fair and competitive.
- Manage the US payroll and benefits administration.
Talent Development:
- Design and deliver professional development programs tailored to a globally diverse team.
- Coordinate leadership training and mentorship opportunities to support career growth.
- Conduct regular feedback sessions to identify team needs and align HR strategies with organizational goals.
Employee Engagement & Culture:
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment aligned with our mission and values.
- Develop and implement initiatives that promote team cohesion, employee recognition, and cultural awareness.
- Act as a trusted advisor and point of contact for employees, providing guidance and support with empathy and discretion.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive HR responsibility and experience with a minimum of one to three years in a management role, ideally in an entrepreneurial and/or international environment.
- Education: Bachelor's or Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus.
- Subject matter expertise in compensation and benefits, training and development, performance management, staffing, organizational development and change, employee relations, and employment law.
- Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong emphasis on empathy and active listening.
- Proficiency in navigating HR practices across multiple countries and cultural contexts.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Technological proficiency, particularly in HRIS systems and virtual collaboration tools.
- Experience with PEOs and Global EORs a plus.
- Commitment to MDIF's mission and policies and have a passion for press freedom.

Total Compensation includes
Salary Range - $90,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience
Paid Time Off / Paid Sick Leave / Paid Personal Days

The People and Cultural Manager will report to the Chief of Staff and will partner with teams across MDIF.
