Job Title: Employee Relations Specialist
Location: South East London (On-site 5 days per week)
Contract: minimum 6-month contract (potential for a permanent appointment)
About the Role:
My client, a leading construction firm is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Employee Relations Specialist to join their HR team to provide expert guidance and support to HR Business Partners and Advisors on all aspects of employee relations best practice and UK employment law. This role will be critical in assisting the business in managing a current backlog of ER cases, with a particular focus on long-term sickness absence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance to HR Business Partners and Advisors on a wide range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary and grievance procedures, performance management, absence management, discrimination and harassment
- Conduct thorough investigations and prepare well-supported case files.
- Advise on the application of UK employment law and best practice.
- Support the business in managing a high volume of employee relations cases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including managers and employees.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as an Employee Relations Specialist within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and best practice.
- Experience in managing complex employee relations cases, including long-term sickness absence.
- Ideally, experience within the construction, engineering, manufacturing, or similar sectors.
