Role Summary
Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Head of Talent Acquisition, EMEA (Director) to join our Human Resources team. You will develop, embed and lead the SMBC Talent Acquisition strategy and service delivery model for Europe, Middle East and Africa. You will be responsible for developing and executing innovative recruitment strategies and shaping the future of our organisation by attracting top-tier talent, whilst ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience, and building a strong employer brand.
In this role you will:
- Define and embed a robust service delivery model to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Oversee permanent hiring across the region (c. 500 hires a year) and management of temporary hiring via an outsourced Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Drive organisational capability by hiring diverse talent, with an excellent candidate and management experience
- Maximise operational efficiency, including embedding direct sourcing across the region
You will need to bring:
- Strategic Leadership: Ability to lead and engage a matrix Talent Acquisition team, aligning the talent acquisition strategy with business goals to improve performance.
- Operational Excellence: A thought leader who is able to utilise data and technology to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across the function
- Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to build credible relationships at all levels of the organisation up to and including senior leaders
Business Area
The role is part of the Talent, Learning and Development Centre of Excellence within the Human Resources Department, whose purpose is "To support our business growth by attracting, developing, mobilising and retaining diverse talent, building a culture where people can be themselves and make a difference". This role manages a UK team of c. 15, including 2 direct reports (UK) and 1 dotted line report (Germany), and also has oversight of the Managed Service Provider (MSP).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and ambitious talent acquisition strategy for the region, aligned to business priorities and growth objectives
- Accountable for leading senior search for executive level roles (General Manager and CxO)
- Lead and mentor a high performing Talent Acquisition team across the EMEA region
- Enhance our employer brand to attract diverse and high-calibre candidates through creative and impactful initiatives.
- Ensure excellent candidate and hiring manager experience and engagement (measured through Qualtrics)
- Develop recruiting strategies to attract top talent in alignment with the bank's diversity aspirations
- Partner with key stakeholders to lead with operational best practice strategies and operational efficiencies
- Drive operational efficiencies across the service delivery model and ensure the service is performing in line with Key Performance Indicators
- Utilise data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make informed decisions to optimise processes
- Ensure recruitment practices comply with local labor laws and regulations across the EMEA region
What you'll bring
- Strong intellect with the foresight and experience of designing, implementing and delivering Talent Acquisition services
- Aligning the Talent Acquisition strategy to deliver organisational priorities and build the SMBC culture
- Scans the external and internal environment to proactively identify and understand the impact and react to new governance, regulations and policy on the Talent Acquisition agenda
- Highly analytical with an ability to look beyond the obvious, anticipating requirements and using technology, data and insights to monitor performance and drive decisions.
- Able to build trust, be credible and ‘hold their own’ at different levels, within and outside the organisation.
- Consultative style along with the determination and patience to achieve results.
- Excellent project management and facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to deal with complex and day to day problems
- Previous experience in Talent Acquisition, interacting with c-suite and board level
