As part of a growing team, a very exciting opportunity to lead a small team, responsible for developing and delivering the internal communications strategy through innovative and engaging channels.
The role reports to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, a member of the Group Executive, and forms part of a growing and high performing team with a national remit across Australia. Driving positive employee engagement, the role has a focus on leadership communications and supporting the People and Culture team’s strategic goals and initiatives.
Further responsibilities include:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communication strategy aligned with the strategic business objectives and values, with a particular focus on supporting the P&C team’s strategic initiatives.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior management on internal communication best practices and emerging trends.
- Identify opportunities for internal communications campaigns to support specific organisation goals and initiatives and lead the end-end campaign development and execution.
- Oversee the management of internal communication channels, including intranet, email, events and other platforms.
- Collaborate with fellow Corporate Affairs, Community and Sustainability team leaders to ensure alignment, maximise opportunities and coordinate issues management.
Content Creation and Management
- Oversee the development of engaging and informative content for internal audiences.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the internal communication channels, including content calendar and publishing schedules.
Employee Engagement & Change Management
- Implement internal communications strategies to support employee engagement activities led by the P&C team.
- Plan and executive internal communications campaigns that support key business initiatives and promote employee participation.
- Lead internal communication strategy for organisational change initiatives
- Collaborate with leaders and stakeholders to ensure clear and consistent message during times of change.
Internal Communications Business Partnering
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Provide advice and support to the business as required.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement communication plans that address their specific needs.
We’re looking for someone with:
- A proven track record leading the internal communications function for a large, complex organisations within an issues rich environment.
- Tertiary qualified with significant experience in a large, public facing corporate affairs team, leading internal communications.
- Strong understanding of internal communication best practices and principles including storytelling, clear and concise writing, impactful presentations, and the use of visual elements.
- Proven ability to manage internal communication channels and create high-quality, engaging content including leadership messages, company news, employee spotlights and business updates.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and measure the effectiveness of internal communications and campaigns to optimise and improve effectiveness.
- Proven ability to effectively lead and inspire a high performing team.
