As the
Director, Talent and Leadership Development you will own and drive programs that invest in the growth, engagement, and success of our team members. This position will lead strategic initiatives across the team member lifecycle, including onboarding, leadership development, team member engagement, performance reviews, and succession planning. This role will partner closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners, and the HR team to educate, grow, and support our talented team members, helping them thrive and achieve their potential from their first day of Sono Bello through every stage of their career.
Success in this role will include designing and delivering impactful programs that align with business needs, foster leadership capabilities, and create a culture of continuous growth and development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and manage end to end programs to support the full team member lifecycle, including onboarding, leadership development, engagement, performance reviews, and succession planning.
- Lead the strategic design and deployment of leadership development programs to enhance leadership capability and ensure readiness for future roles.
- Build and execute an effective onboarding program that ensures a strong start for new team members and aligns them with the company’s culture and goals.
- Develop and implement team member engagement initiatives to capture the team member perspective, foster connection, and address areas for improvement.
- Build and implement an updated annual performance review process, equipping leaders with tools and training to provide effective feedback, coaching, and development planning.
- Partner with business leaders to understand talent needs, provide insights, and develop tailored solutions that drive individual and organizational success.
- Own the talent review and succession planning process, partnering with HR Business Partners on identifying high-potential team members and ensuring robust plans for future leadership needs.
- Leverage data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of programs, identify trends, and inform ongoing improvement.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to align development programs with broader HR and business strategies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and leaders, influencing decision-making and ensuring alignment between talent strategies and business goals.
- Strategic expert in talent programs, continuously identifying opportunities to optimize team member performance, enhance engagement, and align talent initiatives with business objectives and culture.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proven experience designing and implementing business aligned leadership development programs with measurable outcomes, such as increased promotions, reduced team member relations issues, and enhanced leadership capability.
- Strong program management skills, with the ability to oversee large-scale, complex initiatives from design to execution.
- Excellent ability to influence and collaborate with executives and senior leaders to align talent programs with Sono Bello objectives.
- Deep understanding of the team member lifecycle, with demonstrated success in onboarding, engagement, and succession planning.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into practical, scalable talent solutions.
- Skilled in using data and analytics to evaluate program success and guide decision-making.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and lead initiatives, incorporating change management strategies that support organizational transformation and enhance team member adoption.
- Experience with learning management systems to implement and deploy training, using data to determine effectiveness.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and inspire action.
- Ability to find creative, resourceful solutions within existing systems and frameworks.
- Experience partnering effectively with HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence to deliver cohesive business solutions.
- Familiarity with designing and delivering inclusive programs that support diverse leadership development.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 10+ years of experience in talent and leadership development, organizational development, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience working closely with executive leadership and influencing at the highest levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing large-scale talent programs, including onboarding, leadership development, and succession planning.
- Proven experience developing and implementing talent strategies & tools that support multi-state locations with a distributed workforce.
- People management experience, the ability to lead a team to deliver initiatives and objectives.
- Ability to effectively prioritize demands and facilitate change is critical.
- Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments, with the ability to adapt and deliver impactful solutions quickly.
- Experience with talent development strategies—career paths, competencies, professional development, and implementing programmatic learning agendas.
- Excellent presentation and facilitator skills.
- Strong business acumen that demonstrates an understanding of organizational development issues and linking solutions to talent development strategies.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work onsite at the Corporate Office in Bellevue, WA a minimum of 2-3 days a week.
COMPENSATION:
At Sono Bello, we believe that our team members are the keys to our success. The compensation range for this role is $135,000 - $180,000 depending on experience.
