Job Description:
The Career Development Coach fosters professional growth and development for all employees and executives, contributing to the people-first mission and overall employee experience with our client. This role will conduct in-person 1:1 sessions to coach, mentor and guide employees and executives, identify and mitigate challenges, and develop growth plans and goals. The Career Development Coach will also facilitate training and development and assist with performance improvement efforts to ensure all employees and leaders thrive within the company. This position plays a key role in enhancing employee engagement and ensuring clients’ workforce aligns with organizational culture and values.
The Career Development Coach will need to make regular trips between offices (Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD) to conduct in-person 1:1 meetings and facilitate relationship development. The cadence of 1:1 meetings are typically biweekly, but can be adjusted to suit each individual employee.
Key Accountabilities
Career Coaching & Individual Growth (70%):
- Conduct 1:1 meetings with all firm employees and executive leaders to foster relationship building and individual growth. Areas of discussion may include career satisfaction and professional growth; personal and professional goals and challenges; wellness and work-life concerns; individual, team, and company feedback; interpersonal issues and team dynamics; etc.
- Provide tailored coaching and mentorship to help individuals succeed in the workplace and grow personally and professionally.
- Identify employee and executive roadblocks, uncover root cause issues, and work with employees, managers, and leadership to devise strategies and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with employees and managers to foster progress toward individual goals and career growth pathways.
- Foster strong relationships with employees at all levels and build trust and foster a collaborative and supportive environment.
Training & Development (15%):
- Support the organization and development of quality training programs, materials, tools, and resources.
- Organize workshops and seminars to address common skill gaps and enhance workforce competency across key areas.
- Contribute to internal training series to improve employee and executive soft skills.
Employee Engagement (10%):
- Contribute to the design and implementation of initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and culture building.
- Work with greater Core Services team to organize events, workshops, and activities that encourage team building, collaboration, and alignment with the company's mission and values.
- Provide input and assist in the creation of recognition programs to celebrate employe accomplishments and reinforce a culture of appreciation.
- Support the Employee Satisfaction Index (ESI) survey process to gauge employee satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with leadership and HR to align organizational programs, policies, and practices with a positive employee experience.
Employee Performance (5%):
- Assist employees in effective goal setting, tracking, and evaluation to enhance performance and development.
- Partner with HR and management to support employees on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Contribute to continual improvement of company performance review processes.
General:
- Understand firm’s mission, goals, and values and actively work towards them
- Take a personable approach to provide curated solutions to meet client needs and expectations

- Complete tasks on schedule with proper documentation
- Exhibit clear oral and written communication skills
- Submit timesheet and expense reports accurately and on time
- Understand position as representative of the firm and always maintain professionalism
Position Specific Standards:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related field.
- Certified career coach (preferred) or equivalent experience in mentoring/coaching, employee development, or organizational development roles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to foster professional relationships and influence positive outcomes.
