Strategic Leadership: As the VP of People, you will not only contribute to high-level strategic discussions but also play a critical role in executing operational people processes. Team Development: You will lead and mentor a small but dedicated team of two direct reports. Your leadership will involve strategic planning and hands-on execution to ensure that your team is equipped to meet the dynamic needs of the organisation. Anticipate potential changes to the team structure within the first 6-9 months as you evaluate the effectiveness and alignment of human resource functions.

Culture and Engagement Focus: In this capacity, you will be instrumental in redefining the company culture and driving initiatives to improve employee engagement and satisfaction. Your ability to implement recognition and reward systems tailored to both in-office and remote work arrangements will create a compelling work environment that motivates and retains talent.

About the Company:

Our client, operating within the travel industry, has a workforce of around 150 employees predominantly based in London, with additional presence in the US and other locations. Post-pandemic, the company has navigated significant challenges, managing a workforce reduction from 220 employees to about 100. With a recent recovery phase and return to profitability, the focus is now on revitalising employee engagement levels.

Strategic Mindset: Candidates should demonstrate strong business acumen and the ability to contribute meaningfully to executive-level discussions while understanding the intricacies of both employee needs and business requirements.
Tech Environment Experience: A background in or understanding of tech-focused environments is preferred, enabling you to navigate the complexities and peculiarities of the industry.
Interpersonal Skills: We value strong interpersonal skills and likability, ensuring you build relationships at all levels of the organisation while enhancing the overall employee experience.
Inclusive Leadership: We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, especially those with experience in growth businesses of similar size, focusing on a workforce of 100-1000 employees.

Role Details:

Salary: The position offers a competitive salary range of £90,000 to £125,000, complemented by a 20% bonus structure.
Operational Oversight: Manage functional HR processes including performance management, onboarding, and talent development, with a focus on creating a streamlined and efficient workflow.
Cross-Border Expertise: Oversee employment practices for both UK and US employees, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and fostering best practices in talent management.
Strategic Contributions: The VP of People will balance remote work policies with in-office requirements, providing strategic input on talent development, retention strategies, and engagement initiatives that reinforce a culture of success.
