The University of York is seeking a proactive Research Culture Manager to lead the coordination of our Research Culture activities as outlined in the York Research Culture Action Plan 2024-2030. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Research Culture Working Group and institutional leadership to help set the strategic direction of a wide range of work to enhance and develop our research culture. Your key responsibilities will include driving forward activity within the Action Plan, as well as monitoring and evaluating the impact of research culture initiatives. You will develop activities centrally, but also connect with colleagues supporting and developing research culture at departmental and unit level, facilitating effective sharing of good practice and new initiatives.
As a confident communicator, you will engage with a diverse range of audiences, from crafting compelling web content to preparing formal papers and presentations for University committees. You will foster positive dialogue within the research community and champion good practices across the institution and wider sector. Reporting to the Head of the BRIC team, you will collaborate with a wide range of individuals and teams within the University, while also forming partnerships with colleagues from other institutions to develop innovative projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of research culture in Higher Education, have a strategic mindset to navigate complex culture development initiatives, and a passion for driving change and enhancing research culture.
This role is fixed term until 30 September 2027.
