Role Overview
Bay FC is seeking an experienced
Interim Head of People to lead the People Function during the critical transitional period leading into our second season. This role will oversee core HR operations and focus on enhancing key areas of employee engagement, internal communication, HR process design and documentation, and employee relations. In addition to these priorities, the Interim Head of People will provide leadership across all aspects of HR, including compensation, benefits, and compliance.
This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with deep expertise in HR leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
We can flex this role to be full time (temporary), or fractional/part time (temporary). The expected term is Dec 2024-July 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Communications:
- Develop and execute a strategy to ensure clear, consistent, and transparent communication across all levels of the organization.
- Act as a key advisor to leadership on fostering a unified and engaged culture through effective messaging.
- Employee Engagement:
- Analyze and respond to employee engagement survey data to drive initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
- Champion programs and strategies to foster a connected and collaborative workplace.
- HR Process Design and Documentation:
- Lead efforts to design, refine, and document scalable HR processes, systems, and workflows.
- Ensure process alignment with Bay FC’s mission, values, and growth strategy.
- Employee Relations:
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations issues.
- Mediate and resolve complex or sensitive employee concerns with discretion.
- Compensation, Benefits, and Compliance:
- Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide leadership on the review and update of the employee handbook, ensuring compliance with emerging labor laws and regulations.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team, offering strategic and tactical HR guidance.
- Partner with department heads to ensure alignment on HR priorities and organizational objectives.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a senior HR leader.
- Expertise in internal communications, employee engagement, and HR process design.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance best practices.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with compensation and benefits program oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sports is a plus.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, structure flexible (full-time temp or fractional temp).
