As Culture and Engagement, HR Generalist, you will play an essential role in fostering, building upon, and continuously evolving our vibrant, inclusive culture to ensure our employees feel valued, engaged, and connected by embedding corporate values into daily work experiences by partnering with employees at all levels to understand their needs, delivering engagement programs that promote a positive workplace, and using people data to develop meaningful, transparent solutions. In addition, you will support a small client group within the organization as their dedicated business partner, as well as contribute to other People + Culture Business Partner team key projects and initiatives.

This role will report to the Senior Director, ESG with a dotted line to the Director, P+C Business Partners, and is a hybrid role based out of Olo’s headquarters in NYC.
What You'll Do
Culture & Engagement
- Lead initiatives that continuously embed and evolve company values across all levels and departments by fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Build trust and develop meaningful relationships with employees at all levels by understanding what motivates them, and support retention by identifying potential barriers to engagement.
- Design and deliver a range of creative and engaging employee experiences that foster connection, inclusivity, and motivation, including things like company-wide events, team-building activities, employee social clubs, wellness initiatives, and other innovative programs that bring employees together.
- Regularly gather employee feedback through surveys, focus groups, and one-on-one conversations and exit interviews, then analyze feedback data to identify key trends, prioritize issues, and develop action plans that address concerns and enhance employee satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to align people strategies, integrate cultural initiatives across functions, and advocate for People and Culture philosophies, strategies, and processes.
- Partner with department heads to develop tailored engagement strategies that resonate with their teams.
- Track and report on engagement and culture-related KPIs, such as employee satisfaction scores, retention rates, and participation levels in engagement programs, then use this data to refine strategies and demonstrate the impact of engagement initiatives on company culture.
- Lead the Olo for Good Time Committee, collaborating with nonprofit partners and internal stakeholders to create opportunities for employees to volunteer.
- Work closely with our marketing team and other stakeholders to create compelling and informative communications for employees and external stakeholders.
HR Generalist
- Manage and continuously improve employee appreciation and recognition programs, ensuring employees feel valued for their contributions by developing creative ways to highlight employee achievements and foster a culture of gratitude and celebration.
- Use data and people metrics to provide insights on hiring, attrition, diversity, and performance at the departmental level.
- Coordinate and facilitate the annual processes and projects as defined by P&C strategic priorities or business initiatives for assigned organizational client groups.
- Provide guidance on organizational structures, workforce planning, and Total Rewards philosophy.
- Support your own, and at times larger client groups, with complex employee relations issues including writing performance improvement plans and liaising with Legal.
What We'll Expect From You
- 3+ years of experience in employee engagement, human resources, culture building, event management, or related roles – preferably in companies with large remote populations.
- Proven ability to lead and execute company-wide engagement programs, including planning, managing logistics, and handling multiple projects simultaneously; knowledge of culture-building practices within public companies is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for building relationships at all levels of an organization, including executives.
- Strong team philosophy; ability to work positively, collaboratively and professionally within a team and across an organization.
- Ability to analyze feedback, identify trends, and take data-driven action.
- Experience in event planning, project management, and/or internal communications.
- Creative and innovative mindset with a desire to continuously improve the employee experience.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Adaptability; ability to maintain focus and keep a strong eye on the details in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
- SHRM or HRCI Certification Preferred
