Job Summary
As the Workforce Staffing Manager at ToolBelt, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our network of qualified and licensed contractors. You'll be responsible for developing and executing our direct sourcing and recruiting strategy for contractor recruitment and build a high-performing recruitment team to drive new user recruitment and ToolBelt app downloads. This role requires a highly motivated individual with excellent recruiting, managerial, and communication skills, along with a strong understanding of the construction industry and a passion for connecting people with opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute our direct sourcing and recruitment strategy and standard operating procedures to identify and attract top contractor talent and drive ToolBelt app downloads.
- Manage and develop a team of recruiting professionals, including hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Lead the team in conducting prospecting calls and outreach to recruit new users and assess candidates’ skills, experience, and qualifications.
- Ensure that all identified contractors meet licensing, insurance, and background check requirements.
- Develop and manage recruitment (new user) targets and KPIs, and prepare forecasts.
- Measure and optimize the performance of the recruitment team, analyzing data and addressing issues to ensure existing practices generate adequate volume of new users.
- Work with our Head of Sourcing to utilize various sourcing channels (paid advertising, job boards, referrals, social media, and lead lists) to build a strong pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Collaborate with the Customer Success team to understand their needs and priorities for contractor recruitment.
- Provide regular updates on progress against targets, contractor feedback, and team performance to leadership, proposing solutions to challenges.
- Build reporting and maintain accurate records of candidate interactions and progress in our CRM (Hubspot).
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline the contractor recruitment process, including proposing, testing, and implementing solutions for system gaps.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging technologies in recruitment, including AI-driven tools and processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals and organizations to stay informed about market trends and potential candidates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in recruitment or staffing, preferably in the construction industry
- Have experience in recruiting for 1099 & W2 workforce staffing
- Strong understanding of construction trades, roles, and industry trends
- Proven ability to source and recruit passive candidates
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with CRMs and other recruitment tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in managing and developing a team
- Proficiency in the Google Office suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a high-growth startup environment
- Knowledge of HR databases and Candidate Management Systems (CMS)
- Familiarity with AI-driven recruitment tools and processes
- Familiarity with phone and calling systems.
