Are you ready to lead People and Culture in a business where your contribution genuinely shapes the future?
We’re delighted to partner with Hettich Australia in the search for a Manager People and Culture to join their Australian Leadership Team. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of the People function — blending strategic leadership with pragmatic, hands-on delivery in a business that’s ready for its next phase of growth.
Our client
Hettich is one of the world’s largest premier brands in the cabinetry hardware sector. Supported by a global fourth generation organisation established over 135 years ago, and with over 30 years in Australia, they are a growing, family-owned, medium-sized company.
Their employees are at the heart of everything they do, developing intelligent furniture technologies and creating immersive functional design experiences for their customers. They help create flawless interiors with high-performing cabinetry hardware that can last decades. Hettich’s passion for innovation and quality is a driver of their continued success.
Locally, Hettich Australia is an employee centric, values-led team with a strong foundation, a clear strategy, and the momentum to grow. The People and Culture function has been well-established and is now positioned to further evolve the people, culture, leadership and capability initiatives with the business strategy.
The Opportunity
As the current Manager People and Culture moves on, this role offers the opportunity to build on that solid platform and step into a visible, influential role. Working closely with the Managing Director and leadership team, you’ll help shape how the business works — embedding a culture of accountability, performance, and engagement as a key enabler of commercial outcomes.
You’ll lead both the day-to-day and the big picture. That means hands-on delivery across the full employee lifecycle — from hiring to offboarding — while also shaping culture, building capability, supporting succession, embedding the EOS operating model, and continuing to evolve the EVP. You’ll be the trusted adviser to leaders and a go-to resource for staff, driving initiatives that make Hettich a place where great people want to stay and grow.
We’re looking for a confident, practical and people-focused leader who enjoys working at all levels — from strategy to spreadsheets. Someone who thrives in a close-knit business where relationships matter, and who can balance commercial thinking with care and integrity.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- At least 10 years of broad HR experience, including 5+ years in a senior advisory/leadership role
- A tertiary qualification with a human resources and/or business specialisation
- Strong generalist knowledge across the full HR lifecycle, with up-to-date understanding of compliance and employment legislation
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence leaders, and coach for performance and engagement
- Hands-on experience working with HR Information Systems like Employment Hero (including overseeing the payroll processing), Groov and Predictive Index, and have a strong attention to detail for tracking and reporting on key data.
- Experience working in a medium-sized, product-based or B2B environment where flexibility, resourcefulness and initiative are key
- A pragmatic, grounded approach with the ability to balance big-picture thinking and practical execution
This is an exceptional opportunity for a People and Culture professional ready to take the next step in a visible, meaningful role. You'll be backed by a values-led Managing Director, be part of a global business with premium standards, and work with a collaborative team who care deeply about doing great work, together.
On offer is a competitive six-figure package, company car, flexible work arrangements, a supportive and inclusive culture, and a company that supports your personal success, professional development and well-being.
Please Note: we can only accept applicants with full, unrestricted Australian working rights.
