The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a proactive, results-driven leader who excels at fostering collaboration and performance-focused workplace culture. As Head of People, you will champion our core values—openness, inclusion, urgency, and customer delight. You’ll partner with executive leadership to shape Wonderschool’s people strategy, ensuring every team member is supported, empowered, and aligned with our mission.
Key Responsibilities
Build a High-Performance Culture
- Culture of Openness: Promote transparency and open dialogue to empower employees to tackle challenges and share ideas freely.
- Performance Standards: Lead performance management with structured, quarterly reviews, driving a bold, urgency focused “Be a Driver” mentality.
Foster In-Office Collaboration
- In-Office Culture: Cultivate an engaging in-office experience that encourages cross-functional dialogue and teamwork.
- Engagement Programs: Develop initiatives to enhance collaboration and create a unified environment.
Enhance Recruiting and Retention
- High-Performing Teams: Build a recruiting function focused on high standards, diversity, and inclusivity, aligning with Wonderschool’s mission.
- Employee Voice: Implement feedback mechanisms to ensure all perspectives are heard and used to improve the workplace.
Lead Team Offsites and Executive Alignment
- Strategic Events: Organize monthly executive offsites and semi-annual team events to strengthen collaboration and alignment with company goals.
Strengthen Compliance and HR Processes
- Compliance Integrity: Oversee HR compliance, ensuring policies meet federal, state, and local standards.
- Legal Stewardship: Manage HR legal matters efficiently, fostering trust and integrity.
Organizational Design and Leadership Development
- Alignment & Development: Conduct regular organizational design reviews to support business goals.
- Leadership Coaching: Equip managers with the tools to lead effectively and cultivate a values-driven leadership approach.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Exceptional Judgment and Communication: Clear, confident decision-making and communication skills.
- SaaS/Marketplace Experience: Experience in a fast-moving, tech-driven SaaS or marketplace environment is highly valued.
