Forage is building the financial infrastructure, starting with EBT SNAP online, to enable merchants of all sizes to serve these customers online.
We function as a hybrid organization, actively hiring across North America. While we embrace remote work, due to the nature of this role, we are seeking a candidate who will be based in San Francisco and can contribute from our HQ 2-3 days a week.

What We Are Looking For
We’re seeking a dynamic and versatile team member with 3+ years of experience in technical recruiting and the ability to cultivate culture and manage offices. You thrive on finding and engaging top-tier talent, but you're also excited to wear multiple hats in a growing company—contributing meaningfully to People Operations and Office Management as part of a close-knit team.
Qualifications
- Experience hiring for fintech, payments, or SaaS companies.
- Previous experience as an in-house recruiter at a fast-growing startup.
- Familiarity with technical roles, coding languages, and engineering workflows.
You Should Have
- Strong ability to source and engage passive candidates through LinkedIn, GitHub, technical communities, and other channels.
- A data-driven mindset with experience using ATS platforms (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby).
- Ability to manage multiple roles and hiring processes simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive and adaptable mindset—comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Passion for startups, technology, and building high-performance teams.
- A collaborative, solution-oriented attitude with a willingness to dive into People Ops and day-to-day office needs.

Key Responsibilities
🔍 Talent Acquisition (70%)
- Own the end-to-end recruitment process for technical roles, including sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, and closing candidates.
- Develop and execute creative sourcing strategies to attract top engineering talent.
- Partner closely with hiring managers and leadership to deeply understand hiring needs.
- Build and nurture strong talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.
- Ensure a seamless and high-quality candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Drive employer branding initiatives to enhance our startup’s presence in the tech community.
- Implement and optimize recruiting processes and tools as we scale.
- Stay up to date with market trends, compensation benchmarks, and best practices in tech hiring.
👥 People Operations (15%)
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth experience for new and departing team members.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, team-building events, and internal communications.
- Maintain employee records and help implement lightweight HR systems and documentation.
- Collaborate on culture-building and diversity & inclusion efforts.
🏢 Office & Admin (15%)
- Oversee basic office operations, supplies, and facilities needs (for hybrid/in-person teams).
- Coordinate vendor relationships and manage office logistics (e.g., mail, deliveries, snacks, equipment).
- Help organize in-office or off-site events and team gatherings.
- Serve as a friendly point of contact for day-to-day employee needs.

Our Offer
Your base salary would fall within the bands below. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is
not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
