Position Overview:
As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for managing a range of HR functions, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in alignment with company policies and values. This position will oversee outsourced payroll services, address employee relations issues, lead onboarding efforts for new hires, and manage recruitment processes to attract top talent to the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Outsourced Payroll Management:
- Coordinate with third-party payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries and issues.
- Work with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation of payroll data.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
- Investigate and address employee grievances, conflicts, and performance issues in a fair and consistent manner.
- Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment laws to employees and management.
- Support the development of employee engagement initiatives and promote a healthy workplace culture.
- Assist in handling disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations when necessary.
Onboarding & Employee Orientation:
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
- Coordinate the completion of all required documentation and benefits enrollment.
- Introduce new employees to company policies, culture, and key team members.
- Conduct employee orientation sessions and ensure new hires have the tools and resources needed for success.
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition:
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
- Source, screen, and interview candidates for various positions, ensuring a high-quality candidate experience.
- Coordinate with external recruitment agencies and job boards as needed.
- Assist in the development and execution of recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
- Support the creation and execution of employer branding initiatives to enhance the company's visibility in the job market.
General HR Support:
- Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
- Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment and employee benefits inquiries.
- Stay current with HR best practices, employment law updates, and industry trends.
- Provide support in HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on payroll, employee relations, recruiting, and onboarding.
- Experience working with outsourced payroll systems and HR software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday).
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
