Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Internal Communications & Engagement Specialist to craft and execute an impactful communication and engagement strategy. This role will be integral in promoting our unique culture, enhancing the employee experience, and ensuring alignment with corporate values and business objectives. By leveraging creative storytelling and cutting-edge communication platforms, you will connect employees with our vision and milestones, fostering a culture of inclusion and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy Development & Assessment
- Conduct a thorough evaluation of current internal communication and event practices.
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop a strategic plan for internal communications and engagement, including a project roadmap and implementation approach.
2. System Implementation & Channel Management
- Establish scalable processes, roles, and workflows to address diverse employee demographics.
- Maintain the company intranet and oversee multi-channel communication efforts, including email, digital signage, and face-to-face interactions.
- Facilitate feedback mechanisms to capture and address employee sentiments.
- Develop templates, guidelines, and resources for consistent communications that adhere to brand standards.
3. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Design initiatives to enhance collaboration and workplace culture in alignment with organizational values.
- Partner with stakeholders to execute impactful events such as town halls and recognition programs.
- Define objectives, measure outcomes, and refine strategies for continuous improvement.
- Oversee program budgets, ensuring resource alignment with organizational priorities.
4. Content Creation & Delivery
- Produce engaging content for internal platforms, such as emails, presentations, and town halls.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver clear, motivating messages.
- Highlight achievements, milestones, and cultural events to foster employee pride.
- Support change management efforts, including:
- Promoting employee recognition programs.
- Driving awareness of initiatives and updates through storytelling.
- Highlighting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts to promote belonging.
- Enhancing onboarding communication to emphasize company culture.
- Providing support during crisis and emergency response situations.
5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align communication priorities.
- Collaborate with external communications teams to ensure consistency across social media and community outreach efforts.
- Advise leadership on best practices for communication and engagement.
- Champion internal branding efforts to connect employees with the company’s mission and values.
6. Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication initiatives through surveys, feedback, and analytics.
- Establish channels to capture employee input and address gaps with tailored strategies.
- Document processes to ensure long-term sustainability and scalability.
Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of experience in internal communications and event management, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven expertise in developing and executing communication strategies and frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field is a plus.
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign preferred).
- Experience with multi-channel communication tools and platforms.
- Ability to navigate organizational complexities and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
- Executive presence and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
