Position Summary

The V.P. of Talent & Culture is responsible for the human resources function of the organization, which includes directing and coordinating human resources activities; such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and employee services; and harnessing innovation from the organization's talent through systematic vetting and execution of new initiatives that address needs and opportunities across the organization, both community and school staff. This position creates an environment to attract, motivate, develop, and retain innovative staff committed to achieving the Martha O'Bryan Center's mission vision and values.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Staffing & Recruitment

Develops talent acquisition strategy, coordinating and anticipating talent needs across the organization and leveraging best practices in talent marketing, talent acquisition technology and candidate sourcing and relationship management to attract new staff.
With department heads, develops job descriptions and performance evaluation methods to ensure solid criterion for hiring qualified staff and clarifying job expectations.
Arranges job postings to acquire appropriate job candidates and, in conjunction with department head, sets pre-interviews, interviews, and group interviews as appropriate.
Hires, orients, completes paperwork, including background checks as required, for all new hires or promotions. Assures time sheet and payroll setup.
Develops and maintains a strong orientation development program for staff.
Assists school leadership in recruiting faculty as needed.

Compliance & Human Resources Systems

Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.
Writes directives advising department managers of company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits. Serve as subject matter expert with regard to human resources best practices and compliance with labor & employment laws and regulations.
Maintain system for leave administration, including compliance with Family Medical Leave Act and related laws.
Compliance with Federal Labor Standards Act, including wage & hour rules, including policy development and monitoring to ensure ongoing compliance.
Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law.
Provides advice to department managers with personnel issues and sits in on/or conducts employee counseling sessions as needed.
Counsels with managers and employees regarding personnel policy issues and assists in all forced terminations.
Develops and maintains a human resources reporting system meeting management and Board information needs.
Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and case studies to assess industry trends.

People Leadership

Leads and coordinates the activities of the HR Team to ensure employee input regarding policy issues, practices, training, and organizational group building.
Provides leadership and direct supervision to Human Resources staff, including interviewing, hiring and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Organization Leadership

Internal communication and team building
Serves as the Title VI Coordinator for the Center.
Provides regular data reports to the Executives.

Professional Development & Performance Management

Develops professional development, goal setting & accountability frameworks and leads organization in the execution and maintenance of performance management systems.
Delivers company wide training and consults with others to provide corporate training and communication to ensure staff morale and retention.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

Education And Experience

Bachelor's degree.
Five or more years of experience in human resources.
Three or more years of experience supervising a human resources team.
Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials
