Position Summary
The Culture and Communications Leader will support strategic initiatives by exhibiting our vision and mission through leading a positive and inclusive workplace culture, owning internal communications, and being a change agent for transformation. The focus will be on our company culture and positive employee experience, internal communication, and community involvement.
This role is an individual contributor position and will report directly to our SVP, Human Resources.
Culture
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create, promote, and transform the workplace culture by actively working on aligning the work environment with the company mission and values.
- Works closely with our leaders to lead DEI&B and sustainability efforts in our facilities and communities.
- Leads and supports community efforts such as volunteerism, donations, sponsorships.
- Coordinate promotional events and create community connections to solidify our organization as partners to improve the environment, provide employment opportunities, and focus on the future.
- Lead our recognition programs from vendor selection to execution.
- Own our employee engagement survey process and action plan execution to exceed improvement goals.
- Lead and support culture committee initiatives including employee resource groups, industry related projects, and communication involvement.
- Create strategic and actionable plans in becoming a Best Places to Work employer.
- Lead process improvement initiatives in the area of culture and internal communications.
- Work with other areas of the business to continuously improve processes and programs to elevate employee and business performance.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure alignment between cultural initiatives and employe wellbeing, professional development, and recognition programs.
Communications
- Develop and implement communication plans to drive business outcomes.
- Collaborate across the organization to deliver internal communications including but not limited to holiday messages, recognition, newsletters, highlights, and townhall content.
- Lead Townhall event coordination, messaging and communication including other teams to ensure a smooth event for employees and leaders.
- Submit content for intranet site to highlight employees, events, and messaging to support company objectives.
- Own posting of information on external social media sites (ie. LinkedIn) with regards to employee and community events.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive calendar that schedules and organizes internal communications, including newsletters, announcements, events, and other pertinent information.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
Education And/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Communication/Business or other applicable degree or a combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of leading culture and communication initiatives in a matrixed manufacturing organization preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and graphics software
- Ability to utilize photographic equipment to share event while creating excitement in an organization.
- Demonstrated experience owning and leading initiatives.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills; communicates effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Sense of urgency and strong cadence and execution of communication plans.
- Excellent collaboration, relationship building and influencing skills.
- Effective change leadership skills.
- Ability to multi-task, retain focus and composure in a fast-paced environment.
Work Conditions
Hybrid work in an office environment with ability to travel up to 10%.
