Job Summary:
In this newly created role, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Talent Acquisition Director to lead our talent acquisition efforts and help us attract, engage, and hire top-tier talent across all functions. As the Talent Acquisition Director, you will oversee the recruitment process from start to finish, ensuring that we are not only meeting our staffing goals but also aligning our hiring practices with the overall strategic objectives of the organization. You will lead a high-performing team of recruiters and talent acquisition professionals, while also working closely with senior leadership and department heads to understand the evolving talent needs of the business.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy that supports the company’s short- and long-term business goals.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment efforts and continuously improve the hiring process.
- Build and lead a high-performing talent acquisition team, providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to understand talent needs and workforce planning initiatives.
Talent Sourcing & Recruiting:
- Oversee all recruitment activities, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and placement of candidates for both corporate and field positions.
- Drive the development of innovative sourcing strategies to build a robust pipeline of qualified candidates through job boards, social media, networking, partnerships, and direct outreach.
- Lead recruitment campaigns for critical or high-priority roles, ensuring timely and high-quality hiring outcomes.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to optimize sourcing channels, recruitment processes, and candidate experience.
Process Improvement & Optimization:
- Analyze and refine recruitment processes to improve efficiency, reduce time-to-fill, and enhance the overall candidate experience.
- Leverage HR technology, including Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), talent management tools, and data analytics, to streamline recruiting and reporting.
- Ensure that all recruitment activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
- Work with HR colleagues to align recruitment practices with onboarding, employee retention, and workforce development strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting:
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including hiring managers, department heads, and senior leaders, to understand their recruitment needs and provide guidance throughout the hiring process.
- Provide regular reports and insights on recruitment metrics, trends, and talent acquisition performance to senior management.
- Advise leadership on industry trends, competitor hiring practices, and emerging recruitment technologies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in truckload transportation.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- Experience leading a team of recruiters, talent acquisition specialists, or HR professionals.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing talent acquisition strategies that align with business goals.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- In-depth knowledge of recruitment techniques, sourcing strategies, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to think strategically while executing tactically to meet hiring objectives.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and recruiting software (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, etc.).
- Experience overseeing budgets and vendor relationships related to recruiting and staffing services.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions and improve outcomes.
