located in Wilson, North Carolina.

As a Communications Lead, you will be instrumental in shaping our local internal communications strategy to promote employee engagement and cultivate a supportive work environment. The Communications Lead, you will play a crucial role in guiding and directing communication strategies for our leadership team. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various departments to ensure a coordinated approach to internal communications. With over 500 employees across our site, you will be accountable for developing and implementing a well-executed internal communications strategy that aligns with our company's vision and objectives. By fully grasping our culture, values, and key messages, you will actively encourage employee engagement and facilitate effective two-way communication. Additionally, you will work with Corporate communications to guide and coordinate our local external communications with the community and key partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically plan, develop, and implement an internal communications strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. This includes understanding our culture, values, and key messages. Will develop communication strategy from ground level.
- Act as the Internal Communications Business Partner to leaders across the business.
- Manage a team of Internal Communications Coordinators who will act as internal communications ambassadors.
- Collaborate with various functions, such as Human Resources, Communications, and Operations, to align internal communication efforts with their respective goals and initiatives, ensuring consistency of approach and tone.
- Promote employee engagement by managing effective communication channels that encourage collaboration, participation, and feedback.
- Craft and publish internal messages that inform employees about company updates, achievements, initiatives, and changes, ensuring consistent messaging across different communication channels.
- Support senior executives and managers in enhancing internal communications by offering guidance, developing key messages, and providing coaching to leaders on effective communication approaches.
- Work with the broader crisis management and communications team to deliver crisis communication plans and protocols.
- Create engaging and informative content for internal and external communications channels, including articles, videos, presentations, and visual materials.
- Measure, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of internal and external communications initiatives through surveys, feedback analysis, and tracking key performance indicators.
- Drive site engagement and be cornerstone to positive site culture
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma with at least 6 years of relevant experience is required
OR
- Vocational, Certificate, Technical or an Associate’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience is required
Required:
- Proven experience as a communications professional, ideally within a multinational organization.
- Creative, with strong business acumen and an understanding of effective communication strategies.
- Extensive knowledge of internal communication principles and strategies.
- Proficient in creating engaging content such as emails, newsletters, presentations, and videos.
- Experience managing executive and leadership communications.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong ability to work independently and own projects.
- Able to navigate change and ambiguity, thriving in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Yammer, LinkedIn, and/or other communication platforms.
- Understanding of the life sciences, biologics manufacturing, or regulated manufacturing industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences and channels.
