The Vice President of Human Resources is an essential member of the leadership team contributing to the development and execution of the business’s annual strategic plan. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You will play a critical role in shaping and executing HR strategies that align with the company's goals, foster employee engagement, and contribute to the overall success of the organization. With exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, the VP of HR will be a hands-on, achievement orientated self-starter who will build collaborative relationships with employees, peers, and executives.
An entrepreneurial, growth-focused human resources leader is required who has experience in a private equity, venture-backed or similar start-up capacity leading transformation of process, system, and culture as well as best-in-class process often gained in a larger company experience.
Responsibilities :
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to drive workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning.
Talent Management:
- Lead talent acquisition efforts, ensuring the recruitment and retention of top-tier talent.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training and development programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
- Drive initiatives to foster a culture of continuous learning and career development.
Performance Management:
- Design, implement, and oversee a comprehensive performance management system that fosters continuous improvement and individual and team growth.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to establish clear performance objectives and metrics, conduct performance reviews, and implement development plans.
- Ensure good job descriptions are established for all roles that define the overarching performance metrics and results against which success in the role will be determined.
- Analyze employee performance data and identify areas for improvement across the organization.
- Provide counsel and training to management related to effective performance management.
Employee Relations:
- Oversee employee relations programs to ensure a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Handle complex HR issues, investigations, and conflict resolution with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Implement employee engagement strategies to enhance job satisfaction and overall well-being.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
- Regularly review and update compensation structures to ensure alignment with industry standards and company goals.
HR Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
- Drive initiatives to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
- Implement strategies to create a workplace that is welcoming and supportive of all employees.
Qualifications:
- 10+years of progressive roles in senior HR leadership, preferably as a Director or VP of HR.
- An entrepreneurial, hands-on leader who will roll-up-the sleeves to get things done in a timely way
- Ability to maximize performance of small teams and leverage resources
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Inspirational leader of teams, effective change agent and strong interpersonal and teambuilding skills; collaborates effectively one-on-one and cross-functionally
- In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and industry trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI) is a plus.
