The Company
Our client, this leading supplier of fresh artisanal baked goods to premium cafes and catering groups across Australia operates 24/7 with over 750 employees at bakeries in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, while benefiting from the global reach of its parent company, a world-leading food manufacturer with a diverse portfolio and operations in 55 countries. If you’re a foodie, it’s more than likely that you’ve one of their famous croissants, brioche burger buns or sourdough loaves, and if you don’t do gluten, then you may have tried one of their new gluten free products!
The Leaders
Reporting into the Business Operations Director, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate closely with leaders across the business as well as a community of People & Culture leaders across the broader Group.
The Opportunity
Due to significant growth and recent transformation, our client is looking to onboard their first People & Performance Manager. You will lead and manage people processes across the business, supporting a large operational workforce as well as enablement functions. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to align and develop on the people strategy that enables business success.
The role is generalist in scope with the ability to step in, assess current state and begin to enhance people initiatives, processes and systems. You will also lead a Talent Acquisition Specialist and a People & Performance Generalist who are high-performing and passionate about the work that they do!
Day to day, you will:
- Partner with leaders across all levels of the business to provide sound advice on all people related matters;
- Coach and mentor leaders to uplift capability and create an environment that aligns to the organisations mission and values;
- Remain coordinated across the business to address workplace relations matters and resolve issues in a pragmatic and effective manner;
- Drive core people related initiatives including employee engagement, learning & development, talent & succession planning and performance reviews;
- Review and update workplace policies ensuring they are aligned to legislative requirements and are contemporary;
- Lead change management initiatives across the business on people related programs.

About You
You will be an experienced People & Culture Manager who has extensive experience working within the FMCG or alike environments, supporting a multi-site and geographically dispersed workforce.
A strong generalist background is a must and being comfortable stepping between strategic and operational pieces of work; working to execute the implementation of strategic initiatives. Experience in leading a small team is desirable and being able to support and mentor your team to perform at their best.

The Process
Followed by a meeting with a Levyl consultant, you will meet with leaders of the business, and a business stakeholder. There will also be an assessment throughout the process. The preferred candidate will be subject to reference checks carried out by Levyl on behalf of the client.
