We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Manufacturing Engineer within our (location) operation to help support our Automotive business. Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. This role is responsible for the implementation of the product design in manufacturing in the most efficient way. Manufacturing Engineers are a standard member of core teams, bringing in their knowledge and expertise in early stages of development and design to meet our customer's needs.
So, what will you be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer?
- Ensure continuous improvement of current processes to meet manufacturing target and exceed them.
- Responsible to support and deliver new manufacturing technologies to improve competitiveness and project profitability.
- Ensure ECR & MCR are followed up and implemented as projected.
- Responsible for the development and the release of all manufacturing documents (PFMEA, Process Flow charts, Work Instructions, Control plans, Feasibility studies).
- Responsible for the development & installation of the needed manufacturing and packaging equipment and packaging proposal (Expendable and returnable) to meet project goals.
- Leading a Safety-first approach maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensures and monitors work, accident prevention and safe working environment across the business.
- Fulfill assigned primary, secondary and or tertiary deputy/back-up roles as assigned and required on occasion by the business.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Bachelor of science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or Mechatronic engineer.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in Manufacturing, Automotive field preferred.
- Injection mold process experience is an asset.
- “Fanuc” robot programming/troubleshooting is an asset.
- Allen Bradley PLC/HMI programming is an asset.
- Vision system programming.
- Working knowledge of design and application for design of machine elements.
- Electrical control system design and application.
